9 month old not eating anything!

My 9 month old is not eating anything at all. She is teething, she has got her first bottom incisors and the second one is almost coming out of her gums. She was never a good eater but atleast she would eat 4-5 spoons. But now she resists to sit on her high chair it’s a battle to make her sit, after that she does not even want to eat anything, just rejects everything I offer and screams to take her off from her chair. I hold her walk around the house but yet she would not eat. Not that she is taking extra breast milk feeds. Not sure what to do, it’s really stressing me. She was straining while pooping for few days but now it’s better may be because is not eating much solids.

Food before 1 is just for fun, so if she's getting upset about it do something else and don't let yourselves get too stressed out about it. If she's having her milk still and having wet and dirty nappies, then I wouldn't worry too much. Just ignore it and don't put pressure on her to eat if she's just getting upset so she doesn't associate meal times with getting upset. I would offer the food to her to have a play around with and if she eats anything see it as a bonus. My little one liked to play with spaghetti or orzo pasta with a bit of grated cheese and sometimes some of it even went in her mouth and not just on the floor 😁

Can’t agree more. I tried today with some fusseli and lamb pieces .. she didn’t eat though but loved playing with it..

Heya there, teething is such a rotten time. My son now 19 months will go days without eating. He'll drink extra milk during those days or I found giving him food /yogurt pouches he'd down (sometimes). I called the gp and health visitor about this before when he was ill and they advise that as long as they are drinking milk they can go without food for a while and that's after 1 years. Before 1 they really only need milk so if she's still drinking milk that's perfect. Don't stress about forcing her to eat. Try to get her to explore the food, play with it, let her have a taste if she wants to. In a few weeks she'll change completely and suddenly pick up on things, they change so fast xxHope you're okay

If she's exclusively breast fed they can sometimes go a few days without pooping. You can try cycling her legs, rubbing her belly clockwise or pushing her legs up to her tummy. If she's still straining maybe call the HV for more advice, hope she's herself soon xx

If she's teething try some cucumber slices or melon slices. My LO loves chomping on them, and as cold might be a bit soothing.
