Brown mud like spotting- 5 weeks 3 days pregnant

I am pregnant at 5 weeks and 3 days today. Had brown spotting/ bleeding. Went for ultrasound- could locate the sac but no heartbeat due to early gestational state. The bloodwork showed an increase in the HGC hormone but its not doubled. Im concerned if anyone had a similar situation and did they have a successful pregnancy?
