My LO is 4 1/2 months old and been struggling to sleep at night for ages due to congestion. Not snotty nose but rather dry nasal passages/stuffy nose. I have tried everything... nasal saline spray/drops, use a humidifier in the room, bathroom steam, olbas oil, calpol vapour plug-in, windows open at night (and during the day to let air in) etc but poor thing still only manages to sleep less than one/two hours at a time before starting to grizzle and rub nose then cry and have to start all over again with the nasal spray and steaming etc. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? HV not been much help. No problem during the day only night time. Poor thing is exhausted during the day and so am I 😴 Any help greatly appreciated!

Have you tried the Vicks Baby Lavender Vapor rub? That stuff worked wonders when my children were sick or had a stuffy nose. I also used the lavender Vicks pads and regular pads with my Vicks vaporizer. Instead of cool steam from your humidifier try the warm mist humidifier instead.
Hi, I have been using Calpol Saline nosal spray before my little one goes to sleep. After spraying , I use nasal aspirator to completely clear his nose. I also wet muslin blanket and lay it on the top side of his bed so it evaporates. On top of that, humidifier next to his bed and window a little open. With all of this, his nose normally stays clear until the morning ☺️
Hey there, my little un suffered terribly with a stuffy nose, but he also had other symptoms such as puffy eyes as well. I spoke to our gp and explained all his symptoms and everything we had tried, nose sprays, olbas oil, baby vicks, window open, to name a few, my gp prescribed my son with piriton 2.5mls at night. It took a couple of days but then worked wonders and my son was able to sleep without congestion. He is still on allergy meds, he is just over 13 months old now although he has been tested for so many allergens they still can't find what it is he is allergic too. It maybe worth speaking to your gp to rule out any allergy, and to try piriton.
He had puffy eyes, sneezing, watery eyes from time to time, he would have a wheezy chest from time to time, he would cough from time to time, his nose was really stuffy every night and running during the day. We were advised to have a minimalist bedroom for baby, as he is in the same room as us we literally removed everything from the room except our bed, his cot and a set of drawers with the t.v on, and we have to hoover every day so there is no dust and wipe over the windows and windowsill to remove any dust.
