I had copper iud taken out which I had in place for around 7 years on 14th December 2020
I then had a period on the 16th december and have regular periods every 31 days, my period was due on the 16th January 2021 and have had no period like cramps just unusual lower back pain and heavier breasts had intercourse most days over the whole month but have done a clear blue test this morning with first wee and was negative, I am now 5 days late so day 36 of my cycle ive found this really upsetting is there any chance of being pregnant or are my periods now gone irregular from taking the coil out
It could be either really. The coil could have disrupted the womb lining which could affect your period, although this normally will settle quickly and non hormonal (but it's only been 1 month!). However if you have had unprotected sex then there is always a chance for pregnancy. I'd wait a week or two more and recheck.
Thanks for your help, I thought this too but had a period a few days after taking the coil out so I would of thought my periods were still on there normal cycle.it's just a waiting game, with never being this late and different symptoms then usual just had my heart set on the test being a positive, suppose time will tell I think will give it another week if still no period to take another test surely by then if negative at that point, then pregnancy is ruled out
I would have thought that clear blue tests are fairly accurate. They are usually one of the most accurate a few days before missed period. You never know though, I’m hazarding a guess that you’ve got an irregular cycle pattern...you may have ovulated later. As one of the other posters said, you are on the first month of trying. It takes knowing your cycle inside and out. Did you track ovulation?
Hi,Dec 19 I came off the pill (so slightly different to your situation). I was on it for 8 years or so and after the initial period, I didn't have one until Aug 20 and then Nov 20 and Dec 20.
It may take a while for your hormones to settle but I'd definitely speak to your doctor if you're worried. I did in Nov 20 and it seemed to take a lot of stress off and my period came.
I've always had irregular periods, but after stopping the pill last Oct I had my normal period and then missed my November one so took a test which came back negative so did the next two. I took another one in December and that came back positive. I would speak to your doctor as it could be the coil has affected your cycle and you may just be late. But you could also be pregnant. Good luck I took 4 tests in the end as I knew something was different as my boobs were so heavy and sore.
Morning, congratulations to youI have spotting this morning but maybe different changes now with the iud been taken out like back pain and my boobs are so sore and full but either way if implantation or period just glad to see something is happening, such a confusing time differing between the two when you exactly that feel different changes in your body, fingers crossed
It could be implantation or the start of your period. I was lucky and fell pregnant straight away and I'm an older first time mummy. My daughter was born in August. Good luck either way and don't give up it will happen. Xx
