Should I stop potty training for now?

I would be grateful for any advice. I started potty training my son (27 months) I had 4 days off work. He did really well, wee and poo in potty and only a few minor accident. He would start to wee then feel the wet and hold it in until he got to the potty. First day with childminder he had no accidents and used the potty. Then the rest of this week has been awful. The other child with the childminder is still in nappies and my son wanted to be back in nappies like her. He’s had loads of accidents and often refused to use the potty, only a few successes. He was still good using the potty at home with us in the evenings. Then Saturday today at home with me and lots of accidents no successes. Should I give up and put him back in nappies?

If i was you I'd try throughout the weekend and if he's still not having any successes I'd give it a break then go again in a week or two. My daughter did this and i gave it a break then when we started again she was fine. X

For me, if you give him a break you will indicate that he does not need to use the potty. You said he can. Dont waist that chance. Of course it is easier in your childminder but she should fully support you in potty training. My boy is in nursery and they made an effort to help him with his potty training. Yes, there were accidents but bot at home and at nursery we had the same expectations. It looks like your son is ready so why not?

If you decided to potty train your son don’t stop, once nappy are down you should keep going. No every child is the same, don’t expect him not to have accidents he will be have them as now you are in practice mode. You also might experience regression and this is normal too my son after initial week stopped listen me but we continue I did not want to mess around in his head. It was tough two weeks but after three four weeks we managed to have almost no accidents. So my advise is don’t give up he will get there, accidents are very normal at this stage.

Thank you everyone. We’ll see how tomorrow goes. He was a little better after he woke up after his nap today :)
