I don't think there's a sure fire way to prevent them. They say to gain weight steadily, but that's not always in your control, sometimes your bump just grows in leaps and bounds!!And using bio oil 3 times a day is another tip I've heard. I did that and I just got a few faint marks under the bump that faded quite quickly. Keep well hydrated and moisturized and try not to stress about it too much if you do get them xxx

I think lots and lots of moisturising to keep your skin as elastic as possible.

I started before I really had any bump about 6 weeks.

I really enjoyed it as my bump got bigger and I saw it as a baby massage and I’d have a chat to the baby when I did it.

I used coconut oil in the morning after my shower. And then at night a combo of expert midwife skin fantastic and Liz Earle skin replenishing balm. Not sure if it was good luck but I got no stretch marks and I had a large(ish) baby x

I use bio oil morning and evening from 12 weeks. Try and keep my stomach clear for a bit after to let it soak in. I’m 33 weeks with number 2 and so far so good. I have heard it can just be genetics. My mum had 4 babies and got none so I might just be lucky!

Hi. I dont think you can prevent them. You either get them or you won't. Creams don't prevent them. Just be sure to keep hydrated

I got them at the top of my thighs as a teenager. But with my 3 babies I never got any.

Good luck with your pregnancy x

It’s all down to genetics. Obviously keep hydrated and moisturise you skin as much as much as you like, it’ll help with that stretchy itchy feeling as your bump grows. I use Neals Yard Mothers Balm and my skin feels lovely and hydrated and it helps when I get itchy. But there’s no sure fire way to prevent them from happening, it’s in your genes 😊

Nothing is going to stop them, with my first I used all the oils etc going but ended up getting stretch marks in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy. This is my fourth and Ive only just started getting one... I’m 39 weeks today. Just embrace them, they fade eventually x

And I’ve not used a single cream, oil or lotion this time.

Hi,

I think it it just luck of the draw Hun. I didn't get any until I was about 37 weeks pregnant. They have faded loads though on my belly and top of my thighs. It doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would either. My husband also doesn't mind them, he thinks I am hero now 😂What the body goes through to grow and deliver a human is amazing. Good luck with your pregnancy xxx

I’ve tried all sorts, creams and oils and they haven’t worked. It’s a genetic thing, my mum was the same. I look like I’ve been in a war 🤨 but they tell a story and they don’t bother me or my partner ☺️
