Pregnancy diabetes.
I think as long as your bloods are okay they let you go, obviously if your sugars are sky high or in the gutter they’ll keep you in til they regulate xx
They let me leave within 24 hours, my bloods went back to normal straight away, no longer had diabetes immediately after birth. They weren't concerned about my sugar levels at all.
Baby had to have bloods taken on a several occasions to check her sugar levels, one set were very low and she had breast milk, a syringe of pre harvested colustrum and two sachets of glucose. When she had had another two blood tests and her sugar levels had evened out we were allowed home.
I wouldn't try to leave too quickly as if babies blood sugar is low it can cause problems so as long as they're you'll probably be able to leave as soon as your ready.
Slim to none (or so I was always told) minimum of 24 hours because they have to test baby’s blood sugars again at 24 hours to make sure they don’t have it. I had it with my first pregnancy and she was delivered at 3:18am on the 13th I was discharged 1:15pm on the 14th and that was with an emergency section too. But I was always told and prepared for been in 24 hours minimum xx
Normally you'd be kept 24 hours to check baby's blood sugar as they can drop drastically. So it's unlikely you'll go home on the same day. I would have a chat with you midwife/consultant.
