Light brown discharge at 15 weeks?

Hi all,

I’m fairly new and expecting my first.

I’ve just today noticed a small amount of discharge when wiping that is light brown on the tissue. I know it’s common to have a little spotting early on but it seems late for that. I’m not in any noticeable pain - do I need to worry? Or look out for anything?

Thanks for any advice, I’m very nervous of anything going wrong!

I had the same thing, I called my midwife worried and she said it was normal. She said to call back if it turns bright red, which luckily it never did. I’d give your midwife a call just to be sure, but I think it is fairly common. Hope this helps!

Thank you! That’s reassuring - it only just started this afternoon, so I’ll keep an eye out and call if there’s any change.

I had the exact same thing and it tended to be around when I would have got my period. I had it at around 8,12 and 16ish weeks and it was quite heavy. Midwife told me it was nothing to worry about . I think it's fairly common but always ring your midwife just to be sure but I'm sure it's fine! Enjoy your pregnancy, it's an amazing time xxx
