I am due my second baby on August 30th so I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant (on Sunday). I'm just wondering if anyone else on here is due August/September? I'm feeling super heavy, uncomfortable, hot and all the symptoms under the sun!
How are all you heavily pregnant people holding up?

Hey, I can relate! I’m due my first at the end of august too.. I’m so uncomfortable it’s unbelievable Im hoping I don’t go over my due date! Iv found yoga stretches help ease back pain a little..but yes it’s hard work.. hope u can get some rest to ease how your feeling a little
Thanks congrats too 😘.. we’re having a girl what about you? It’s a really exciting time I’m trying to prepare for birth as not sure what to expect.. any tips on pain management? Our hospital is still not letting birth partners in until dilation is at 5cm+
We're having a boy :). I have a 5 year old daughter too.
I was induced with her and it was a really difficult labour. I was induced on Thursday 10am and didn't have her until Saturday 12pm. I had an epidural which only numbed my legs as some women have 'windows' where it doesn't work and mine happened to be my whole belly! I had to have an episiotomy and forceps delivery which left baby's head badly brusied :(. Gas and air made me really sick too.
So this time I'm really hoping for a natural induction and I'm just trying to think positively and take it as it comes. I don't know what to do about pain relief as gas and air and epidural didn't work well for me. However, I've heard it works great for most people. My friend has 2 kids and she said the epidural numbed everything and she actually went to sleep until it was time to push!
My advice would just be to take it as it comes and try not to over plan because its hard to predict what will happen for you. Breathing is really important though, when the contractions are strong it helps to concentrate on your breathing and not the pain! I'm clueless tbh as my last labour was induced I really don't know how I'm going to react when this one starts! We've been told we're allowed partners there now but only if they don't leave and come back so I'm glad about that.
I'm sure you'll do great. I think we naturally over think it because it's such a big event but I'm just going in with the mindset of 'I can do this, whatever happens I'll deal with it as it comes' x
Aww that’s so lovely you have a girl and now a boy, thanks for sharing your experience, I hope this time round it will be natural for you, love your mindset, I’m reading hypnobirthing books which focus on positive thinking hoping that will kick in when the time comes! Your absolutely right when it comes to overthinking.. but yes dealing with it as it comes sounds like great thinking..I’m going to try adopt that too! ☺️ x
Yes I’m due 28th August... Baby head fully in pelvis so hopefully not too long... growth scan Monday and hopefully give me more idea when baby will make appearance
Yeah I get scanned every 4 weeks from when I was 20 weeks it’s more my age and family history. I have consultant and midwife lovely seeing my baby every month but pain how many appointments I have.
Ahhh, I thought it was just a different hospital different policy thing, that’s so good they are monitoring you and baby so closely although yeah I can imagine it’s a pain having lots of appointments, sounds like you have really good care, wish you all the best for your little ones arrival 😘 x
Congratulations! I was told at my 35 week appointment last week that baby's head is just the brim engaged so I'm hoping this week he's moved down alot more! It feels like he has as I keep getting shooting pains and cramps.
I hope I don’t go over, Hospital tomorrow so fingers crossed, my midwife booked my 38 weeks appointment she said she doubts that I will make it that far
Despite being half the size of previous 2, this bump is proving to be most difficult. Putting socks on it’s harder than a gym work out, lol. Currently have a fan, full blast at side of bed as I’m so hot at nights. Feeling very uncomfortable & now on day 2 of heavy cramp feelings in lower tummy.
Previous pregnancies were both inductions. First was 2 days after due date as my husband was flying to afghan but sadly was made to wait 12 days with 2nd. I have appointment with consultant regarding induction at 40wks due to medical reasons. Here’s hoping they agree & im not left hanging an extra 12 days again.
I'm exactly the same with the fan! My partner sleeps so wrapped up and I have the fan on, window open and no covers on me and still wake up sweating! He's been putting my socks and shoes on for me the past couple weeks too lol!
Wow 12 days over! That must of been hard! I'm hoping to go into labour naturally a little early with this one as I'm due the day before my daughter starts school and I'm just so uncomfortable now.
I've been told if I have to be induced that my partner won't be able to be there due to covid, he can only come once I'm in the labour ward. What's the rules like for where you are?
That is awful. As far as I’m aware, my other half is allowed in with me but he can’t leave at all. I was at maternity assessment couple of weeks back & he got in with me too. I get they have to be cautious with current situation but if it’s perfectly fine to sit in pub with no social distancing & face coverings, why aren’t partners allowed in to support their other half’s at such an import time. I would go stir crazy being on my own. I was in 22hrs before getting taken to labour ward. There’s no way I could do that again, on my own. I’m hoping I go myself this time but not getting hopes up, lol. Just need to pray that consultant agrees to start me at 40wks & I’m not left hanging 12days like last time.
I was induced with my first and I was in 2 days before I got moved to the labour ward too! So I'm hoping I don't have to be induced this time.
Have you tried any natural ways to help things along? I'm only 36 weeks atm but I've been trying to keep active and been sitting on my birthing ball to help him move down where he needs to be etc. I'm really struggling to get around though, I have back ache and cramps, my feet and hands are swollen and just standing causes so much discomfort! But I know laying around all day wont speed things along! lol.
I tried everything before & nothing worked for me but that’s not to say you will be the same. My mum swears by caster oil but the thought off it makes me feel sick, lol. I’m just trying not to think about it this time & hoping they will induce me at 40wks. I have 2 horses so my days are pretty active, although I’m not as hands on these days but still up there everyday. It may not help bring her any earlier but it helps pass my days/weeks, lol. xx
I've just had my phone appointment with the health visitor and she told me that staying active increases your chances of a natural induction and a faster more active labour! So I've been walking up and down the stairs this morning lol. I have my 36 week midwife appointment in 15 mins too so I'm hoping he's engaged and ready to go! Fingers crossed x
Good luck but remember, your second & onward pregnancies, baby doesn’t always engage until last min. I have my midwife appointment tomorrow. If she’s still measuring small, I may get sent for growth scan. xx
Yeah he's not engaged yet but he's healthy, measuring at 6lb 4oz!
I had growth scans with my first, its nice to get to see them all them extra times! I've just been discussing all my birth plans with the midwife, feels so real now!!!
I bet it does. Atleast you don’t have much longer to wait. I’m just counting down the days until I see consultant. Only another 5wks & 4days until DD, lol. xx
I'm due a week today! I'm being induced on 10th so hoping she comes early but to be honest I'm not hopeful, feels like she's nice and comfy in there. Hope you are doing OK, the last bit is HARD xx
Aww exciting, not long for you now! I'm hoping my little one comes out a bit earlier than 4 weeks but they come when they want to don't they! Good luck I hope your induction goes well and quickly x
Thanks, yes kind of dreading the induction but also just want to get it done! I saw your last induction didn't go well, what a nightmare. I hope these next few weeks go quickly for you and you're feeling OK. I feel like I've been pregnant forever!! xx
I am due August 31st. Sleeping is becoming more difficult and just even just rolling out of bed from on side to the other to get up an pee (4 times) at night 🤣
I have an appointment tomorrow but I don’t think our boy has engaged yet eventhough his head is down.
My feet are swollen all the time. But I really hope that changes after birth
Otherwise I feel good. And I am very excited, since it’s our first I don’t know what to expect yet 😍
Yeah I totally know how you feel about rolling over in bed! Lol. I don't think I can get much bigger now but apparently these final weeks are where you gain the most weight! I've gained 4 stone but I think it's a lot of water as my arms and legs are really swollen, I'm like a marshmallow!
Are you managing to keep active? I've been trying to go for walks but I just feel so heavy and slow and clumsy!
Hello everyone. Just thought I'd update this post to say I had my little boy on Friday at 37+5 weeks. I was in slow labour from Monday, made the decision to go to the birthing centre at midnight Friday and he was born 2 hours later in the birthing pool! Super fast and amazing delivery. After having an epidural and forceps delivery with my first baby then experiencing a natural birth this time, I'd highly recommend a pool birth with gas and air. It was so peaceful. Hurt like hell but it was nice to be able to move around the pool and the warm water really does help ease the pains especially down below when pushing. Tbh I was so surprised he was coming, I thought he was a poo then out popped a head! Even the midwife was in shock he was coming! Lol. Good luck everyone. I am so in love and happy, he is perfect. Xxx
Awww congratulations 😀 I hope you are both doing ok 🙂 I had birthing pool with both of mine they are amazing I would recommend then to everyone who having babies xx
