39 weeks and 2nd sweep today

Hi all.

I am 39 weeks and I’ve had my 2nd sweep today with 1st baby. I have a very high BMI and baby was weighing 8lb 8oz last week so they wanted to try and move things along.

It’s been 6 hours since my sweep, and I’ve had no bloody show or discharge but having really bad period like cramps and a bit of diarrhoea (sorry!)

Is this a good sign? Can anyone share their sweep stories with me?

I had a sweep at 41 weeks and unfortunately it never works for me. I never had a show and had to be induced and baby was 12 days late in the end. I’ve heard diarrhoea is a sign as it’s your body getting rid of things so fingers crossed it won’t be long for you xx

I have about 5 sweeps before I was induced (+more sweeps with the pessery!) unfortunately they didn't do much for me until the 4th when I started to loose my plug. The day before my induction my system cleaned out but I was still only 2cm so was induced anyway. Good luck! xx
