Thanks for you reply. She opens her mouth (pretty much to scream) but spits it out despite us putting it between her lower gums and cheek. She gets sooooo distraught which is horrible to see.

Will she not take calpol from a bottle teat??

I know it’s horrible, but you may have too hold her down and give her it that way. We had too do it a few times with our little girl, when she had jabs. She now loves any medicine

If you hadn’t already try some teething powder or gel that you can rub into her gums. At least it may offer some relief. X

Have you tried different flavour calpol equivalents? My daughter hated calpol, in fact so much if we managed to get her to swallow it she brought it back up with being so distressed. It was too thick for her, asda and tescos own were better and orange nurofen when she was old enough worked really well. Also watering calpol down and from a spoon worked better.

My daughter was the same she would only take cherry paracetamol that was a calpol equivalent from a pharmacy. Do you have any pharmacies you could pop into and see? Xx

My son hates taking medicine one method which worked when he had antibiotics recently was we pretended the syringe was a rocket and was going to land in his mouth. We have had to make him take it before I found if you blow on there face makes them swallow it instead of spitting it out just do little bit at a time.

Thank you everyone. Some really useful suggestions that I will try. Hopefully one will work with the little tinker xx

Look in boots for a medicine dispenser for babies that’s more like a bottle teat. I’ve. It used one myself so no idea how much it would help. But I guess it’s probably worth a try. Also the teething granules are brilliant.
