What to expect at dating scan?

Hi guys I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant, does the sickness and tiredness ever go away? I'm sleeping like 15 hours a day and feel like my backs going crooked from being in bed so much, I walk a little distance or do some housework and feel exhausted and the sickness is horrible, I'm sick like 2-3times a day! Will it ever go away? And also I have my dating scan in a week, what should I expect?

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Everyone is different but yes it did for me. I had extreme exhaustion like you describe and although I was never physically sick I had awful constant nausea. For me those 2 things lasted until week 16. I slowly started to feel better from then and it did go away completely. It came back a bit towards the end of pregnancy but not as bad or for as long.

I’ll leave the dating scan query to someone else, it might be different from what I experienced due to the corona virus restrictions. Fingers crossed the awful symptoms don’t last much longer. Good luck xx

I was the same with sickness, nausea and exhaustion... Seems to have passed just before I turned 12 weeks...but I think timings are different for everyone. In terms of the dating scan, with the virus, you aren’t allowed partners and I think for most hospitals you cannot take photos or videos of the scan. Mine lasted about an hour and a half. You have the scan initially which was about 15 mins and you can see the baby and have measurements taken for the screening scans. Then I had to give a urine sample to look for proteins in urine, then bloods taken for further screening and infection tests. And finally a quick chat with midwife where you can ask questions, and they give you your free baby packs with some samples inside.
