Dating scan

Hi, I'm confused when my first scan will be. My week marker is on a Thursday and I'm currently 10 weeks. Would my scan be booked for the week in which I turn 12 weeks on the Thursday, or the week after- or does this vary on location? Also will the midwife book this for me at my first appointment with them? Thanks

Hi! I think most of times they book you depending of the hospitals availability. My 12 week scan was in my 13w+5days, so nearly 14 weeks. But my 20 week scan was in week 19. I hope soon you'll receive the letter with the date and time!

My midwife booked the scan for me, my first baby was at 12 weeks this one will be 13 . Have you met your midwife yet for the booking appointment?

You normally have your first midwife appt at 8 weeks or so, have you got one booked in as they'll sort the dating scan for you - dating scan can be anywhere between 11 and 14 weeks. Hope that helps!

Thanks all. My booking apt with midwife is on Monday so need to focus that it's not long now until I'll know- just find it difficult juggling diaries and work so have been trying to work out likely dates.

My appointment with my midwife was at 8 weeks and I had to self refer myself using an online form (this is for Brighton). I only just had my scan date through this week for next thursday, which is when i'm 12 weeks.
