Very high risk after quad test

So I've had my quad test results and have a chance baby has a 1 in 11 chance of downs syndrome.

Absolutely devastated and cant sleep.

I have an amino booked for tomorrow morning and now I'm not sure what I'm worrying about more. The results and future for my baby or tomorrows test.

Hi there I can't imagine what you're going through, it must be so worrying. Nothing is for certain though till after your test and it's only a risk currently not a diagnosis so there is still the possibility that baby doesn't have it.

I can't imagine that you'll be able to stop worrying but perhaps you can get information about downs syndrome so that you're ready if you do get a diagnosis.

Even if you do get a diagnosis of downs syndrome this isn't always the negative that it is portrayed, yes you'll have a different journey but it can still be a positive journey filled with love.

Sending you all my love to you, and hoping your test tomorrow goes a well as it can xxx

Thank you for your reply it means a lot

I've been going out of my mind for days.

I think Il just be glad when it's all over and we know whichever way and we can deal with it.

Downs is sad but not the end of the world it's just all the other conditions that they sometimes suffer with which is is terrible and cruel.

It's just the not knowing and the worry of doing any further harm to baby.

Xx

Gm :0) I wanted to try and help if possible. 11 years ago I got pregnant with my daughter and at 4 months pregnant my blood test came out positive then I did the Amino test which did suck it’s like pressure but it’s fast. A few weeks passed and the dr called me in my test came out positive and it was a girl!! I cried and cried!!! My kids father left the room.. I had a hard time excepting it. I remember folding clothes and crying. Wondering how can I handle a kid with a disability???? The pregnancy was mostly worry and a bunch of appointments BUT as soon as this little bundle of joy came out my mother instincts kicked in. I was in love with her!!! she is 10 years old now and I honestly couldn’t imagine life with out her now!! She brightens everyone day and everyone adores her! It truly isn’t bad!!! I would be sad comparing her growth with other kids but I learned to stop that!!!! She is who she is and she awesome!! Wish I could show you her! I thought I would have to fight for her and protect her no I have to remind people I have another child too lol she gets all the attention. I know it’s hard and scary and just messed up but if this child does have Down’s syndrome and When the day comes and he/she is born your mind won’t be the same your heart won’t be the same everyone in your family won’t be the same promise everything you thought mattered will melt away!! Good luck and hope you find some peace with the results!
