Hi everyone! I am 25 weeks pregnant and have an awful pain in my lower back. It feels like a sharp/burning pain. I am starting to find it difficult to walk, sleep or do any sort of activities which is really hard because I am quite an active person!
I have had back pain on and of over the years and I also have hypermobility. My midwife has referred me to a physio but i am wondering if anyone has had similar pain with hypermobility and how they managed it?
Thank you

I have hyper mobility as I'm from slavic decent. Randomly my back would give up on me and I'd walk like an old lady all hunched over barely shuffling a few feet. I've been going chiropractor before pregnancy and carried on during pregnancy. After week 32 I went every week as I didn't want to suffer with the agony even just for a day.
You could look up chiropractors and call them and ask if any of them have experience with pregnant women, they should do but some have more experience than others.
I will have a look today and hopefully I will find someone around here.
I think hypermobility can sometimes cause more pain than people realise x
Find a local pregnancy Pilates instructor and join their class or do private Pilates with them so they can tailor the exercises to meet your needs. You need to strengthen the muscles that support you, glutes, abs, core muscles, hamstrings and quads. Squats, on all fours superman, on all fours hamstring curls. I’m a Pilates instructor and am qualified to teach pregnant women in St Neots - find me on Facebook - FlexiFitness St Neots. Xx
