Has anyone’s OB recommended early induction because of Polyhydramnios? Also, can anyone share their experience with Cervadil?

I’ve been recommended early induction due to poly and big baby. Will decide next week. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi Rachel

I was taken in and induced at 39 weeks with my first baby (19 weeks pregnant with no2 now) I had Polyhydramnios, a suspected large baby (he was 9.6 but they suspected over 11lbs) and reduced fetal movement. I had cervadil for 2 days and NOTHING happened we ending up being there for 3 days of just waiting 😂 with very little progression. So nothing is rushed they still leave your body to try to ‘get going’ naturally if you know what i mean. I was taken up to the maternity ward 4 days before my due date where they were planning to rupture my waters following an epidural at around 9am however they ruptured themselves whilst having the epidural but at this point I still hadn’t dilated past a couple of cm’s. They then put me on a drip to start contractions but unfortunately for me again nothing really progressed with any speed and by 1am the next morning they had decided to do an emergeny c-section as the babies heart rate had started to dip. So my little one was eventually born safe and sound 3 days before his due date. I hope my experience has helped eased your worry! it was fine, and hopefully Your’ll get some quicker progression than I did! Best of luck xx
