I am due to start weaning my son very soon and I was just wondering what people would say are the "essential" items to have? At the moment I have nothing and I also don't have a massive amount of money to be buying expensive "do it all" machines. So If anyone could advise on essential items that would be helpful then I would be much appreciative!
Thank you xx

You definitely don’t need any machines etc. Also depends whether you are doing puree or baby led. I started with puree and one weekend just bought a load of veg and cooked and blended it up. I then put them in ice cube trays and put in the freezer and then when frozen into freezer bags. When the time came I would defrost what I needed as they only need one or two ice cubes at a time and went from there. So only thing I really needed was the blender and that was only £5 from Argos x
I agree with above reply. You don’t need fancy machines a cheap blender will do the job! I started with baby rice , blended & sieved fruit purées, yogurt. Gradually I introduced her into “solid”foods to try. Now she’s 7 & half months I basically give her what we have ( except for spicy food!) We are also introducing finger foods. You will know what is right for your son all the best with it xxx
