Hi I'm new to this. I am a young mum and I'm looking for someone who could help me and give me some advice on how to potty train my 2 year old son.

Im just waiting for them to tell me when she's ready. Definitely not at the moment. Heard not to rush it or they only regress

buy a potty and hand it over as a gift.... sit on it when even with your cloths on.

pottytrainingbox.com will guide you. So helpful XX

Each child is different and sometimes you got to try different techniques until your child is successfully trained . I found YouTube very useful for tips and advice. My 3 year old son hates the potty and hates the toilet even more! I tried so many things with no success. I’m leaving it to the nursery now, whatever they do I’ll do that at home. Tbh I’m kinda tired of nappies and pull ups- but I don’t want to force him and make it into a negative experience. :D

He goes to nursery, he just doesn't seem to be interested or bothered. I could possibly have a look on YouTube didn't think of that, but maybe leave it to the nursery to see if they can help x

Yeh, I know what you mean, I guess the nursery will help in some way to encourage going to the toilet, also seeing other kids go too may help speed things up for your daughter. Like I said, every child is different and toilet train at different ages. I follow some of Janet Langsbury’s Philosophy of respectful parenting, might give you an idea of what she thinks about toilet training- it could suit your parenting style. janetlansbury.com/2014/08/3...

Good luck! X

I’ve trained my son when he was 22months. He shown signs but....🤣

Well, from what I have read everywhere it says when you decide to start with potty dont give up and be patient. So first of all I’ve removed all nappies from the house leaving only some for night and nap times. From day one for about a week my son was half dressed no pants or knickers nothing, we hardly left a house for first 5days-important you dedicate some time for doing the training, even others will do carry for you it’s you parents who should start this and lay a plan for it. My son was ignoring me for the first 5days and at that point I was close to give up and only the fact I’ve put so many days to work on him held me off from giving up. On day 5 I’ve let ourselves for a walk to park, wearing on him only tracksuit no pants. I’ve packed up few changes of his clothes and that was such a lesson not only to my boy but to me too-my boy understood suddenly what it means to wet himself and I saw that is not that bad thing when a child has wet accident as is also easy to manage. Starting to getting out I’ve also noticed that my son never did a wee or poo when sitting up in his push chair or car seat, he only done it when on move. In order to let ourselves out I’ve started to control the dosage of drunk before we out, also I have been visiting with him toilets on more regular basis first every 10min then extending this time for every 15min etc. I remember I was asking my boy like a crazy ‘do you want toilet, wee etc’. This was good as training a kid early we need to teach them commands too.

When he suddenly got the confidence around 2wks after we started training I was feeling so happy like I won a marathon😂this experience was hard but when you achieve this you will be so proud of yourself and your baby, as you both can do it! But it’s hard experience it was hard on me, but not need be on you as every kid is different some gets trained quicker some need more time.
