Mince pies and alcohol in cooked food
I wouldn’t worry, there won’t be much in food x
I did wonder this myself but the way I see it, if things are cooked then the alcohol would burn off. Anything like rum butter or trifle (which are my faves at christmas) I've decided to avoid x
This is personal choice, but there's such a small amount in a serving it's incredibly unlikely to cause any problems.
I think if it’s cooked off it should be fine in moderation. I’m definitely eating mince pies!
I waa 8 months last xmas and i had brandy butter and mince pies but i did avoid the liquor chocolates. I have a health 11 month old so i assume it was fine
I was 8months pregnant last Christmas and I had a craving for mince pies I was eating 2× boxes a day maybe more.... my lb is 11 months and is fit and health.... so you eat as many mince pies as you want lol xx
best to totally avoid you dont want your unborn child to have issues with their health so it is better safe than sorry
Honestly if you read the scientific reporting - a few glasses of wine here and there aren’t going to do any harm let alone mince pies, FAS is normally due to heavy drinking or an addiction. A dr friend told me reason they say 0 is because they don’t want people to go wild given that different people have very different ideas of moderation. I’m not advocating drinking but just saying don’t stress enjoy the holidays and all the mince pies and in the third trimester a glass of wine in celebration is no big deal.
I agree, Pook27. The Danish cohort study among others has produced some comprehensive research on this and has found no evidence of any harm of light drinking during pregnancy. An occasional glass of wine and all the mince pies you could want would be fine.
Thanks all xx
Totally agree with above. Cant believe the poster sayinf id avoid if u dont want your baby to have health issues talk about scare mongering over a mince pie! Lol
