Bottle and food warmer

Any advise regarding weather a bottle & food warmer is worth buying? I spent a lot in the past 3 months since my LO was born so thinking twice before every purchase. I was considering a bottle/food warmer to warm frozen breast milk and frozen baby food. However, wanted to find out if it is worth buying.

As far as I'm aware you have to thaw anything frozen before you warm it. If you don't want to spend money just warm it in a pan with warm water (Bain Marie)

Waste of money I was given one for my first daughter second hand I never used it I'm now on daughter number 2 I personally use microwave to warm both their milk but I only ever take the chill of the fridge off. It's all about common sense wither its food or milk heat it gradual shake or stir really well and test against your wrist. If it's too hot on inside of wrist its too hot for baby. Mind this is just my opinion you decide what's best for you, but most baby products are just gadgets there to get first time mums thinking they've got what's best on the market but as you've said you've already spent too much!

Thanks!! but I thought milk shouldn't be heated in a microwave? Can you please advise how exactly would you do it if it was a frozen breast milk bag?

Personally I was responding to how to reheat things as in when you'd use a bottle/food warmer I wouldn't heat from frozen but maybe that's something you can do I've never done it. You'll find that in motherhood there are lots of does and don't but it's never black and white it's all about common sense they have to say don't use microwave because people don't stir or shake things vigorously so it's easier to advise that you shouldn't use it. When I was defrosting my girls food that I'd pre cooked and frozen I'd take it out in advance because once defrosted I would use it within the 24hours you get after defrosting. The way I defrost things is to put whatever it is in a sink of cold water then put it in fridge till I need it later that day to be fair tho it's such small amounts that it doesn't take long to thaw out!

Personally I would let the frozen milk to defrost and then pour it in the bottle and put it in a hot water to warm up or use Avent Philips has a great warming up machine - I have their bottles and pots for frozen food - so perfectly would fit in to warm them up.

I heard that breastmilk should not be heated in a microwave as it looses the good stuff- but that's for each mum to decide what's best.x

Well these days the midwives want you to prepare the feed the baby is due not to prepare and store in advance I'm different to yourself as I didn't breastfeed so just prepared within their hour before to let cool to room tempreture but honestly each to there own with my first two used to prepare let cool then stick in fridge now your told you can't do this but it was only four years ago you could my sister who breast fed found it easier to express each feed just before hand and sometimes bottle it up so partner could take a turn with night feeds
