So uncomfortable - only 23 weeks 😬

I am struggling massively! Constant backache, horrendous heartburn, beyond exhausted and every time I eat I feel so full it makes me feel sick. I do not want to complain as I am beyond lucky and thrilled to be pregnant but I need some tips to help me feel a bit better! Help!

Oh I’m feeling the same expect I’m 29 weeks and I’m afraid to say it only gets worse! I feel so bad complaining too! I find gaviscon and sleeping with a pregnancy pillow helps with heartburn. Eat little and often and just take paracetamol for any back pain! I’m struggling with my ribs at the minute it’s awful! (But worth it 🤞🏼)

Oh bless you! I am so worried about how I'm going to cope as I get even bigger and baby takes up more space. I think I probably take about 10 rennies a day to try and tackle this heartburn, it's horrific. Little and often is a good tip, I'll try that x

Love heart sweets are also good for heartburn x

Snap! I’m 24 weeks and my bump is small, but baby is on target. Midwife says heartburn is from the baby pushing up against my stomach instead of out to form a bump. Thus must be true as i’m feeling very sick after eating. Little and often works for me too along with liquid gaviscon before bed and at any other time if the day! The dream genie pillow helps with hip ache at night as does sleeping on a folded duvet to make the bed a bit more squashy.

Amazing, great tips thanks! Sorry you're feeling rubbish as well. 40 weeks feels a lifetime away x

Poor you :( are you feeling him kicking you much yet? Hope you get some good advice to help you feel better. I swear by Pilates, I really think it helped me a lot through my pregnancy (but it has to be specifically for pregnancy with someone who knows what they're doing) and it's never too late to start xxx

Pilates? Interesting, I will have a look in to that, see if there's anything in the area for pregnant ladies. He is kicking me loads! It's my favourite thing, I absolutely love feeling him move ❤️ How are you doing lovely? x

I hope it helps your back pain.

We're pretty good. On our first trip, visiting my father-in-law. We've brought everything but the kitchen sink. Our days of traveling light are behind us!!

Wait till he's here. Breastfeeding will be your new favorite thing - after it stops hurting!!

❤️ I'm so excited!! Enjoy your trip and trying to find everything in your 13 suitcases 😂😂x

Feeling your pain lovely. My hips are giving me grief during the day and even more so at night. I've got a mountain of pillows and pregnancy pillows and in the end I sleep sitting up 🙈 uses to after feeling for sick for so long but it's not ideal...and all I can think is this is only going to get worse.

Going to follow your post and see if anyone has any good advice 😉 x x x

It's intense isn't it?! I really don't want to seem ungrateful because I'm so excited but I never imagined it would be this physically hard to grow a baby. Luckily sleep seems to be the one thing I'm not struggling with yet, I'm uncomfortable and achy but I'm so tired I fall asleep right away. How are you feeling otherwise? x

Drives in reply toKitcat12

Apart from the achy hips at night disturbing my sleep I'm all good thank lovely. Got a neat little bump now and feeling her kicking now. Hubby hasn't been able to deel them yet as my placenta is at the front but I'm sure it wont be long as they are getting stronger by the day.

Hope your heartburn eases soon - that sounds grim x x x

Lovely!! My partner hasn't felt them yet either, even though they are strong enough to see my tummy move. I love it! Sounds like you're doing well apart from aches and pains x

Drives in reply toKitcat12

That's reassuring as I could see my tummy move too but he still couldn't feel them 🤣

Yes I'm doing great and shouldn't really complain...had a cheeky nap this morning too.

Hope you're having a lovely relaxing weekend x x x

I can't see how I'm going to manage! Bless you, sorry you're struggling as well. It will all be worth it in the end, just got to try and remember that x

Oh bless you. Have you seen your midwife/obgyn? Are you still working, can u go off sick and at least rest up?

Hopefully it will get better soon.

Kitcat12 profile image
Kitcat12 in reply toElynn

I haven't mentioned it to the midwife. I sort of feel a bit silly/dramatic because ladies go through this all over the world all the time. I am still working and did plan to carry on until 37 ish weeks, although that's looking less and less likely with how much I'm struggling! Maybe I'll need to mention it at my next midwife appointment x

Reflexology really helped me. I went to a pregnancy specialist from 23 weeks.

I have a friend who is a qualified reflexologist so I can definitely ask her for treatment! Thank you for the tip x

Aww totally feel for you. I find when I have a growth spurt I have all of the above then a couple of days/week later my energy is back and my eating is abit better etc. I find doing prenatal

Yoga helps my aches and pains and small meals and snacks helps too. I feel full then an hour later I’m starving! Think they are pushing against my stomach. Hope things ease off for you x

Thank you! Looks like I'll be researching some prenatal yoga and Pilates in my area x

It’s amazing what a good stretch can do for you. I think most classes are for complete beginners as well so it’s very gentle. Hope you find a local studio. X

It seems like there's absolutely nothing in my area for pregnant ladies. Such a shame! Maybe I'll try some YouTube video guides x

Apple87 profile image
Apple87 in reply toKitcat12

Aww that’s a shame. Think I was just lucky as my usual yoga teacher already does a prenatal class so it was easy to just turn up and nice to meet other pregnant ladies too. I’ve been doing abit of swimming as well. If you think that would help? I love just bobbing about and doing a few lengths really nice to take the weight off. X

Kitcat12 profile image
Kitcat12 in reply toApple87

Embarrassingly, I'm not a great swimmer at all! But I do love being in water so might be worth a try, thank you x

Apple87 profile image
Apple87 in reply toKitcat12

I’m not that great either hence the bobbing around 😂 I do find it soothing the feeling of being light especially now I’m at 32weeks with twins. X

Kitcat12 profile image
Kitcat12 in reply toApple87

Yeah that sounds lovely actually! How exciting, not long to go until you meet your twins. Do you know if you're expecting boys/girls/both? x

I’ve got another 5 weeks to go so not long at all. It’s a big surprise. Have no idea what we are having. X

Hey Kitkat. Get some Ranitidine from your doctor for the heartburn. It will change your life! I’ve been feeling the same and started on that last week when my consultant gave me a prescription. It’s helped so much and improved my appetite too, although can’t eat loads still x

Kitcat12 profile image
Kitcat12 in reply toCAS2

I will certainly ask about this, thank you!! x

I feel your pain. I’m 23 +3 and don’t know how I’m going to get to full term. I know I will (just being dramatic!) but everything just feels so much harder now. This is certainly the less glamorous side of pregnancy!! I’ve found that yoga really helps. I was also going to mention it to my midwife at my next appointment as I know I’m prone to suffer from anemia and low blood pressure so doubt that this is helping.

Kitcat12 profile image
Kitcat12 in reply toBethJ7

Haha I feel dramatic as well, think it's just taken me by surprise. You're almost exactly the same dates as me, my due date is 30th jan x

Hello! I don't have any great tips, although I did enjoy a bath which helped me to relax, cold chocolate milk and also ice-cream were my go to for the heartburn. Also, when you give birth you will forget what it was ever like to have constant heart burn 😊

Sending you a big sympathy hug, I think pregnant women needs lots of those!

I am experiencing the same thing except with nausea/vomiting. I also have a lost of appetite right now. Im experiencing some real bad back and abdominal pain. Part of me feels like they braxton hicks but at 23 weeks that's too early right. How did you find relief?

Kitcat12 profile image
