Hi. I'm just wondering what shifts everyone does in their early stages of pregnancy. I am currently just shy of 6 weeks pregnant working as a health care assistant in a hospital. I'm worried to pick up to many shifts as I'm scared it may cause harm to my developing baby?? Just wanted to see if anyone was as cautious during their first trimester. Many thanks.

You won't harm your baby, it's very safe & snug in there. I'm a childminder on my 3rd pregnancy & haven't changed anything. The main thing you need to be wary of is lifting. Baby isn't at risk but hormones make your ligaments relax to allow your uterus to grow so you could be at a slightly higher risk of hurting yourself. Inform your boss when your ready so they can do risk assessments for you x
