Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I need to buy a steamer blender to start weaning or will a blender do the job if I try to steam everything in a saucepan?

And which brand do you recommend btw?

Thanks x

I’m following baby led weaning and a stick blender is all I have needed. I have a Phillips one.

Thanks Lizzie; I didn’t know about bevy led weaning at all. Just started to read about it after seeing your reply. Loved it! But can I start now? LO is 5.5 months x

Baby led weaning starts at six months as most weaning is supposed to according to the nhs. Baby needs to be able to grasp things to bring to his/her mouth, needs to have lost the tongue thrust reflex and needs to be sitting up (supported in chair is ok but not still slumping or falling). Otherwise they’re not ready x

Highly recommend the Gill Rapley books if you think you might do it. They often come up on fb marketplace near me.
