No sign of my baby coming, we were convinced she would be on her way. Her head was so engaged they couldn’t take accurate measurements of her head on her last growth scan. She was weighing at 7lbs 10oz at 38 weeks + 4 days. Consultant was happy with her weight & no more growth scans needed. He thought she would be here by due date, she fooled us all 🤣 I was given antibiotics for a UTI. But did say he didn’t want going over 12 days post due date.
I saw my midwife & we discussed all of the last appointment. I was offered the membrane sweep but because of how painful I find pelvic examinations due to my endometriosis I refused one which she supported. She booked me in for induction with pessary instead. Booked in Thursday 13th June which I have to confirm on that morning.
I have no idea of what to expect as my son cane naturally at 39 weeks + 1 day. But my placenta wasn’t working well towards the end of my pregnancy & I stopped feeling him moving which I was told was normal ( this is 21 years ago) lucky he came early or might not be here now very scary ( so glad they take movements more seriously now)
I hope she comes on her own accord & want her here safely with us ❤️ x
Due date already 😱 where has the time gone! Hope the little tinker arrives soon and you don’t need an induction, she’s clearly very comfortable where she is 😉 x
Starting to get the hang of things finally and actually relaxing a little more (only taken 7 months 😉) She’s finally settled on one of the prescription milks and although we’ve found she can’t tolerate coconut or peanut whilst weaning, because I have control it’s actually not affected me as bad as the milk situation did. Just egg left out of the major allergens to try 😬 Other than that she is coming along great and her little personality is coming out, I think I’m going to have a noisy chatty one 😂 Can’t wait to see pictures of your little one, you forget how small they were 😊 x
Hey Jess I was induced on a Wednesday and I gave birth on a Friday. Take along with you plenty of snacks and things to pass your time as it's very boring!!!!! Alot of sitting around and waiting. Also my midwife was meant to keep an eye on me to see the babies heart rate but the horrible midwife didn't so be pushy if they don't come and check on you. Good luck xxxx
Thank you. Sorry to hear of your experience I hope you complained that’s awful. Really negligent. Hubby will be there & will not take any nonsense 😉 Hope you are doing ok xoxo
Tbh I was so out of it I didn't. Havent had time since to complain. Life is soooo busy with a little one but I wouldn't have it any other way. My little one will be 6 months soon and we have just started weaning. The journey was a long one and totally worth it. Good luck!
Wow Jess, your little one is due already, my how 9 months flys when you're pregnant ey!
Really hope your induction and birth go smoothly for you and can't wait to see pics of your little girl!
We're due on the 27th of this month with a boy. He's measuring 2 weeks over and weighed 6lb 10 at 35 weeks.
I feel he'll be with us in a week or 2 but watch this space!
Can you believe we're finally at this exciting (and nerve wracking) place?
Loads of luck and love xxx
As the others have said, i can't believe you've reached your due date already! Time really is flying though. No experience / advice on the induction. Fingers crossed all goes well, but hopefully it's not needed xx
Fingers crossed baby appears before you still have plenty of time. I was induced. Went in at 9 at night. They monitor baby for 30 mins. All being well the pop a pessary in to near your cervix. It took around 4 hours for contractions to start. After contracting to 2cm they took labour ward to break my waters and popped me on a drip. None of it was scary or uncomfortable. Hope this eases your worry. Everything crossed for you sweetie xxx
Hiya, I was induced with my son last week- we went in at 4pm had a pessery inserted at about 5:30 and he was born at 6am- was the quickest labor, was in the delivery suite for about 15 mins with about 2 mins of pushing. From people's stories I thought I would have been in for days lol, so also prep yourself for that especially since your baby is engaged, mine wasn't and was that quick lol. Oh also prepare yourself that you might not go in straight away when you call up in morning xxxxx
I was induced with my first. Be prepared for it to take a while- they were busy so it was 24 hours until we started. You mention that pelvic exams are painful but it you can bear it- try one as hospital with gas and air. Much nicer than having to be put on a hormone drip
Hi Jess. I PM'd you a while ago but no response. I cant believe you are at this stage and im so happy for you. Good luck hope all goes well for you. You will have your little girl in your arms before you know it xxx
Hi, I was due to be induced last Wednesday but contractions started naturally on the Monday night and our little girl arrived on Tuesday 💕 I’d spoken to a few people about what to expect for induction though (all but one of our NCT group was induced!) and they’d said the same about it being quite a long process (so take plenty of magazines/ tv to watch) and it also depends on how far dilated you are when you go in- they would start with the Pessary if you had little/ no dilation but you may be able to go straight to get your waters broken if you have started to dilate, which would speed up the process. Good luck- fingers crossed all goes well for you ❤️ Xxx
Mine is booked in for tomorrow the whole thing is scaring me my 4 previous babies came without any induction last 3 were early even but this little fella isn't growing as much as they want I'll be 38weeks so he will be 2 weeks earlier iv been in so much pain for weeks as he's very low had an examination today and that was soooooo painful she couldn't get my cervix as well as she wanted as his head is right down
Been feeling like I need to poo since then but nothing getting cramps and back pain and just feel rotten and want to sleep but can't get comfortable they will be using the propess hoping that will work quickly as I don't want a long drawn out labour as I'm petrified of the pain now x
I'll be thinking of you next week, Jess. I am due on 9 June - will see which baby comes first. Good luck and take care. xx
Hi everyone.
Thank you for all your responses.
I have exciting news I went into labour early yesterday morning & had her at 6.19 am Wednesday morning!
She weighed 9lbs 11oz 😮 far bigger than we thought she was!! I had some stitches under a local ( the dr had to check & luckily I didn’t have to go to theatre) meant Daddy had a long cuddle for an hour or so. We had to stay in for over 12 hours as she pooped inside me whilst coming out. We didn’t get home till gone 9 & were exhausted but on cloud 9. So happy our baby girl is here safe & sound 😊 will definitely post on fertility site to give hope to others 💞xoxo
Congrats Hun our baby boy was born 12.11am on 8/6 he also pooped whilst still inside as he was getting stressed he weighed 5lb14oz also had to stay in longer due to the meconium and his blood sugars dipped x
