I’m pretty sure at that age I just used water even though baby was born with quite a bit of hair.

Can’t comment on the Afro hair though so hope someone else who has experience of that can advise you x

Hey girl. Congrats on your little prince.

My God brother is Afro and I in my younger days did a lot of Afro hair as he's so young not much needs to be done just use a mild sulfate free shampoo once or twice a week and remember to keep his scalp and hair moisturized organic olive oil will do for now hun.

Hope your doing well and congrats once again

Congrats on your little one.

Afro hair is high maintenance compared to European hair. It’s because it’s basically the same but very curly. It can get really tangled up if not looked after. You need to regularly comb the hair : using a Afro comb for Afro hair, be gentle and use a tiny bit of coco butter.

Only wash once a week, black peoples skin dries out quickly in non tropical temperatures ( like Europe!) so remember to regularly oil his skin all over.

Don’t be afraid to reach out to the black community: Hair shops for Afro hair will have many products for babies upwards. Simply ask black mums or any black woman, they will know .

Best of luck.

We just used water until she was about 7/8 months xx

Hi from an African 😊😊. Our babies are close in age, I could remember when you announced your pregnancy on fertility group, it's good to see we are all doing well. I use a product called kokoso, we use it for both body and hair, no scent no harsh chemicals as I'm very very cautious of chemicals because of all I went through to conceive. LG has lots of hair and we have been able to manage it well. We use olive oil and coconut oil for her hair. Shea butter, and coconut oil for her body and when we notice a bit of dryness we use E45 and she's got great skin and hair. We don't bath everyday for now.

We just use little angels shampoo, started using it about 5 weeks. LG’s hair in top, always looked greasy so thought time too start using shampoo. x
