Just wishing time would pass

I feel so sick all the time, all I do is go from bed to sofa to chair, eating way too much as it helps a bit, but still feeling sick. Just wanting it to be later on, or tomorrow, dreading the night because I can't sleep, hating the mornings because I am so nauseated, bored in the afternoons because I'm too tired to do anything. Then back to nausea at night and not being able to sleep...

9 weeks today. I hope it's twins. I don't want to go through this again 😥

If it’s really bad consider going to the doctors for some meds, I didn’t go further than the sofa and I was off work as the nausea was so bad (I also couldn’t eat and barely drank), the meds helped me function even if I still felt a bit icky most of the time. It does get better after the first trimester but I was on meds the whole time, just lowered the dose. Hope you feel better soon x

I had quite a lot of nausea and vomiting up until 9 weeks and then it got better all of a sudden. Hopefully things will turn a corner for you soon too. Even though it’s for a happy reason it still feels pretty miserable at the time. Hang in there and speak to your gp if it gets really bad. Important to be able to get some good quality sleep xx

Thank you!! I will. And yes, it's a happy thing and feeling miserable makes you feel guilty too. But it is what it is. No one likes feeling nauseous!

I had a lot of nausea (was never actually sick) until around the 12 week mark. What helped me was eating, little and often, and mainly just carbs!! I still ate a lot of fruit, but had as much bread, pasta and potatoes as I wanted. Try a lucozade if you are struggling with water. It will pass, just rest, that’s clearly what your body needs. xx

Feel you girl!!!! Only at 7 weeks and been feeling like that since I found out. What makes it worst I can’t eat at all so then it is horrible as I am being sick with pretty much nothing in my stomach so it is this horrible acid taste afterwards 🤢 I have been given pills from GP but those didn’t really help as I am still sick every day. Wasn’t planning to tell work any time soon but as I have run out from number of meetings I don’t think I can keep blaming on stomach bug. I had a scan so know mine is just a single baby and I don’t want to even think how it would be like with twins. My colleague at work just went through the same thing, she just started 11 weeks and her sickness just stopped 2 days ago so there is a hope that it will go away at some point !

Fingers crossed! Well done on making it to work. My manager told me to take a week off. I am very fortunate to have such an understanding work environment!

I’m 34 weeks and still nauseous but zofran (can’t spell it lol) is amazing!! Even tho you feel horrible try to do so basic workouts like yoga and legs. Especially before bed stretches will help you sleep a little better

Sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish, hang in there!! And my best tip, if it carries on or you feel you can't cope, is to talk to your GP. I've had rubbish nausea (and was sick a lot all day everyday) and I really recommend talking to your GP. I'm currently 19 weeks and it has eased (much better than 1st trimester but not entirely disappeared) . Nothing 'fixed' it but for me, clear lemonade and lucozade helped most at its worst (7-15 weeks) - it's probably the combination of hydration and sugar/glucose. I also found I could keep down things like plain wafer biscuits and occasionally cereal bars. It wasn't the healthiest diet for 1st trimester!

I went to the Dr for help at 13 weeks as was getting dehydrated and quite dizzy and he said I might have come to see him sooner (the midwife was sympathetic but was encouraging me to stick it out - until she realised it had crossed a line and I needed to get to the gp.) He prescribed cyclizine for nausea as a first step. I'm not sure it's that effective but I think it did help a bit. But there are also more sophisticated medications like zofran available I understand. If you are struggling, I'd really recommend seeing the GP sooner rather than waiting. Mine was really sympathetic and has helped a lot. One of the worst things was as you say, the monotony, boredom and slight misery when you maybe thought you'd be on cloud 9. But the nausea will go away eventually and you have so much to look forward to. If you're too sick to think about exercising, maybe try to find a way to get some fresh air? I found that quite refreshing and it would cheer me up a bit between all the barfing!!

I suffered really bad with my sickness as it was through the last summer when it was really hot. I know it sounds weird but I found ice pops just the cheap ones helpful. it helped get fluid in my system as I couldn't keep liquids down and this made me feel well enough for food. Hope this helps.

Oh dear, I feel your pain, they said the symptoms should easy at 11-12wks. Mine really gone away at 11wks, thanks Good! I was pretty wasted for good 5-6wks, day and night and despite this was my third pregnancy (only one son by now) this time I had much stronger nausea, this is not funny at all! And yes eating helped me too, but now my carving just stopped and I can reasonably adjust my diet. Fx you will soon feel better!

I never suffered with sickness, I swear blind it was because whenever I felt nauseous I put my anti sickness travel band in my wrists. They worked a treat. Its worth trying x
