First question from a newbie - exercise

Hello!

I am 19 weeks pregnant, 39 years old and rather inclined to laziness.

I was wondering about signing up for some pregnancy yoga or pilates and was hoping to hear about your experiences, especially from inexperienced/unfit mums-to-be or the pros and cons of each.

Thanks in advance!

I loved pregnancy yoga. It really wasn’t exercise, more breathing and stretching. The breathing was great preparation for labour.

I loved prenatal yoga. We had a lay down bit with a blanket at the end which became nap time! Then tea and biscuits. Nice to meet other bumps aswell.

I have also been looking for a suitable excercise to do. My first 15 weeks of being pregnant were hell and I was basically a weak vegetable just lying around and not really keeping down food.

Now I’m feeling better my body feels so rubbish, like my muscle mass has decreased and so I’m desperate to feel a bit better. I enquirer about a regular yoga class but she was nervous to take on a pregnant woman and I can’t imagine many other exercise groups been too keen to take me on either.

I was looking to research any other suitable classes but didn’t really find anything especially in my area. However I have found a few prenatal yoga videos on YouTube.... I’m yea to try them out 😂
