30 weeks - exercise help!

Hey guys! I’m feeling so lethargic lately , and I can’t be bothered to work out / walk / eat healthy or anything . Usually I’m very healthy , active and wanting to do things is this normal or am I just going through a phase?!

Also for people with Fitbits / step counts : how many steps are you doing to feel motivated and healthy? I used to do 12,000 plus a day and only managing about 7k now. How many should I be doing to keep in the healthy zone so all the crap I’m eating isn’t going to make me any fatter than I need to be 😞

Sorry for the rant and thanks for getting this far if you have! I’m just having a bad day I guess. One of my personal worries is not fitting into my clothes again or looking like how I was so I’m starting to panic! Thanks xxx

Hi Sugar0202, If it’s any help I am 18weeks and used to be doing 10k steps every day however I’ve found myself needing to slow down over the course of the last month and I’m now happy with 5to 7k steps most days. I’ve switched high intensity activities to walking and I’m trying to get into the habit of yoga 3 to 4 times a week followed by 10mins meditation. It may not be high intensity but I have found it keeps me active and really helps with the aches and pains!! I still feel healthy and active even though it is a lot less than I was doing before I was pregnant. Hope that helps; start small and don’t push yourself too hard just listen to what your body is telling you :)

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve tried yoga I just can’t get into it :/ and yes I will do, just hard to get your head around what you should be doing vs what your body is telling you to do isn’t it , thanks for the reply. Xx

Hey! It’s really important that you listen to your body in this last trimester as it’s starting to prepare you for labour and life after pregnancy. I recently had a little boy and I was worried about the same thing in regards to gaining weight, I only gained 5kg in total and 3.5-4kg of that was baby, fluid and placenta so naturally I shrunk back down pretty quick after birth. However, there’s absolutely no pressure to quickly snap back to your pre pregnancy body, your body is doing an amazing thing and you’ll need time to recover - whatever you feel comfortable doing now in terms of fitness is exactly what your body can handle so please don’t worry that you’re not doing as much as you’re used to! You’ve got this mama, let your body do it’s thing - good luck for the next few weeks, get plenty of rest :)

Wow that’s brilliant with the weight ! I haven’t weighed myself at all since 3 and half months pregnant because I’m not sure it’ll be good for my brain , I only had to to buy maternity leggings recently so I know I’m lucky as I know some can be worse off for no reason, just hard to recognise yourself I guess, thanks for the response, feeling loads better today 🥰

Hey, I'm 33 weeks and 4 days and only aim for half an hours walk to 40 mins walk daily and achieving 5000-6000 steps a day I lowered from my usual target of 10, 000 as I don't believe it's achievable during lockdown let alone pregnancy.

I am due to be weighed at next midwife apt so will find out my bmi and weight gain which is majority baby and boobs. I'm also paranoid about weight gain and y'day noticed stretch marks on lower bump (I cried) as use bio-oil daily and thought had avoided them.

Is there a partner or other person in your household who can help you eat better? Are you eating badly or just too often?

I only bought one pair of maternity jeans and leggings as could wear normal jeans to around 20 weeks, and am trying to use positive thinking.

If your really lethargic has midwife checked you for aneamia?

Sorry for long reply.x 🤗

I need to try and do that with the walking but I need to pee as soon as I leave the house which I’m sure you’re the same haha, I know with the stretch marks I have them on my boobs :/ hopefully they will fade as we get back to our. Normal selves!

Well this is the issue , my partner thinks what we (I) eat it normal!! But to me it’s not . I don’t eat chips , potatoes , bread ext , I’m more of a salad / rice type of person so if I’m not eating that I feel awful 👀

And yes I am anaemic which I have been for years, very silly of me to not realise that’s what it was, I thought it was depression but they have put me on stronger iron tablets and starting to feel better! Thanks for sharing your thoughts it really helps 💞 xx

Hi, I’m little over 24 weeks, so during lockdown I have done NO exercises, just yoga sometimes as it helps my leg cramps. In a first trimester I was to tired all the time to exercise.

Now I’m trying to walk daily in different forests/woods around 5-7k a day, and if I skip the walk then I do yoga.

I gained around 8kg now, and also worried about being fat as I used to be quite fit and did daily HIIT workouts and played tennis quite often.

I’m planning to get back to the workout routine after he baby is born; at least some home workouts/HIIT/Blaze classes. I think this is the best way to get back in shape.

Unfortunately, I eat sweets daily and I never used to eat them before. Other than that I eat healthy food only.

However, I’m so worried about getting cellulite on my legs. Can someone recommend some creams for this? Not sure if I can use any during pregnancy but definitely will start using some after!

Well done with your yoga and daily walking though that’s more than me ! I have said this before but I just can’t get into yoga it’s not fast paced enough but I may try it now you s mentioned for aches and pains ! HIIT is a very good option I’m looking into it as we speak!

As for cellulite please don’t worry about that , I know for a fact it will go once baby is here, make sure you’re drinking enough water as you possibly can! I believe water is the best thing for cellulite as it pushes the lines out of it makes sense! Give it a try and let me know if you see a difference 😊

Firstly, you are growing a human. It takes a lot of energy it’s absolutely normal to want to move a little less and eat a little more, I gained about 45 pounds with my daughter and through breastfeeding and very mild exercise like walking I lost it all in a few months after her birth. I honestly didn’t even really notice, you are dealing with so many other things postpartum. I would yoga and Pilates are great for helping with core strength after birth. But really don’t beat yourself before up you are so close to becoming a mother, just do what feels right for you right now.

🥰 thanks so much! Just get so body conscious it’s consuming me at the moment , that’s great knowing it only taken you a few months ! No time at all ! Thank you x
