False Labour

Me again guys! Feel so disheartened!! 3am Tuesday pains and contractions start. Fairly irregular but at most every 6 minutes lasting at least 40 seconds. Pain strong but bearable. 2pm Tuesday everything stops! Why?? Why would your body tease you like that?!! It’s now nearly noon Wednesday, few contractions again and loss of a massive mucus plug. Midwife at 2pm for 2nd sweep. I’m now 40+4. Would love to hear from people who have had the same thing happen. What helped you? TIA

I had this happen a few times. Starting lasting most the day then just stopping. Not sure much can help but I will say when labour started on the day I gave birth it felt different and my labour was really quick so I like to think those days in the run up to labour helped. Not sure they did but makes me feel better about them. You are so close now so hopefully no more false labours.

No advice I’m sorry, but 1st time mum and I had the same thing on New Year’s Eve, very frustrating. Although I am only 37+4, but talks of early induction so would rather go on my own.

Thank you to everyone for their advise. Midwife was semi successful. Ended up in triage with suspected pre-eclampsia. Drs agreed to induce baby was born by c-section yesterday at 07.49am xx
