General advice is to contact docs if no success after trying for 2 years before IVF. For NHS funded IVF , you will need a BMI of under 30 (even if this needs to be dealt with then start now). Even if it's 30.5, you'll be off the programme - it's strict and both of you will need to be non-smokers. Also, just to warn you, many of the scans during the IVF process will be internal and some of the preliminary tests can be very comfortable / painful

Is it under bmi 30 for men too or just women just curious?

It's only strict for the women - it is more just advisable that men have a healthy weight.

It's one of those things, you'd rather not go through it but if that's what it takes.....Wishing you lots of luck on your journey x

Awe reading how long it takes for you to get in makes me so sad Iā€™m not in the uk so hearing all the stories about all the different things is kinda cool but I wish you luck and hope you get pregnant soon

When my hubby and I were trying we only had to wait a year to see the fertility clinic did a lot of tests just to find out that nothings wrong with me and no reason Iā€™m not getting pregnant so they put me in clomid it was so painful sending you baby vibes!
