Hi there all im in need of a smidge pf advice. Considering I'm a mum of 4 and should be well versed in this I'm at a loss this time round.
I have a new born son who was born early due to stoppinggrowth at 33 weeks. Seemingly has a lactose and soya intolerance. I have began the stages of cutting it out of my diet in order to save his poor gut the anguished pain he gets but to no avail.
Any hints or tips on how to help a very gassy and unwell little one with these digestive problems.

I'm off dairy, my baby is on infacol every feed and ranitidine three times a day. She would regularly scream in pain it was a nightmare I didn't know how to help. She was on infacol but I saw the Dr who prescribed the ranitidine for reflux. It's helping, we still have the odd screaming fit but once a week as apposed to every day.
I took in a short video of her screaming. I'm a first time mum and you always hear about screaming babies, I wanted to show that it wasn't normal. That helped me be taken more seriously I think. The Dr could see her face and hear her, it was clear she wasn't right.
Now that I think I'll have to do. And photos of his nappies. As they can range from green and mucusy to yellow and mucus or yellow diahorea. I will definitely give that a go.
Has baby actually had stool and blood tests for suspected allergies? As they are extremly uncommon, 0.05% have a true dairy allergy, less for soya. Mucousy stools and reflux symptoms can be related to lip and tongue ties, most midwives and health visitors are not trained to identify them so whilst you may have been told the latch looks great, unless a trained professional has felt inside the mouth you wouldn't know for sure.
My son had both, despite his latch looking good and gaining weight well, his tummy issues and reflux symptoms disappeared within a week of being revised. Ties are super common and massivly overlooked. If you speakto the GP its likely you will just get medicationto alleviate the reflux symptoms, but that won't fix the root of the issue. Your local breastfeeding support group should have someone trained to assess.
He has mucusy, diahorea type nappies and is only 2.5weeks old. His digestive system was jump started at birth as wasn't producing any meconium when born. I'll get his mouth fully looked into by his consultant as I'm in an area I don't know and very apprehensive about wondering off on my own at the moment. Midwives have told us to cut dairy from my diet and now soya. But Seem a to be making the matter change. His bowels now run straight through and feeds every 2 hrs. The mucus is still there but luckily the hives have calmed considerably. It's now mainly his bowel
It could be coincidental, it takes around 30 days of being totally free from dairy or soya for it to be gone from your system. Your local La Leche League can help, or you can find a provider who comes to your house to assess and correct at tongue-tie.org.uk/Mobile/m-... if that is easier for you.
I shall look into this. As the problem we have is.. he's not full developed and has a few issues due to stopping growth at 33 weeks. So narrowing down the root causes of alot of his issues is hard with him being so tiny. He's having his heel spot redone as the doctor wasn't satisfied with the results for some reason. So it's all limbo at the moment.
