Am I pregnant?

Hi. I hope someone can help me. I feel even stupid writing this given that I have a two year old and was sure this time around, I'd remember everything! Last time, I used CB ovulation kits and in the first month, everything went by the book and I was pregnant and it was smooth sailing. I don't remember the two week wait being as agonising because I had not expected it would happen so quickly but this time around it's different. This month is once more our first month of trying and I again used CB ovulation tests. I started testing from the day it said and I have a very regular cycle however the test didn't work a single day. For ten solid days it had a blank smiley, no peaks, no high, nothing. I went on my gut feel and on CD 13 (28 day cycle), we had sex and again the couple of days after that because I did have egg white kind of mucus (sorry tmi). I was so upset that all the tests were blank but consider myself to be fairly healthy as I don't drink or smoke and do have regular cycles so I wanted to give it a go. Today I am 9DPO and my stomach area feels strange. It feels like a weird pinching feeling that has happened loads of time throughout the day. It's not sore or anything, it almost feels like the kind of twinge I recall when the baby would move (I know this sounds crazy.) I know I'd need to be very lucky to be this lucky twice but I am so disheartened and upset by the ovulation tests showing blanks the whole time that I am wondering if I even ovulated or if there are much bigger problems than that. I know it's early days but the wait is absolutely killing me. I forgot to add I have also had headaches for two full days almost as well, yesterday being particularly excruciating. Has anyone else ever had no luck with the ovulation tests but went on gut feel and had it all work out? My period is due on 28th June but I don't want to test mad early even though I have a First Response Early Response because I just don't want to be disheartened. Any advice would be greatly appreciated xxx

Hi lovely, I’d wait till the first day of your period if you miss it. Then I’d do a pregnancy test it’s most likely to show up then.

I conceived my first 2 within one month trying did not realise how lucky I was at the time. When you read the heartbreak of some couples stories of years trying with no luck. It took me 5 months then mc and then 6 months for this pregnancy. If you’ve only been trying for a month just chill you actually could be pregnant already or try the opk again I’ve actually never had a positive opk.

I conceived both of mine in the first month so it is possible!

When I was trying for my second I used an ovulation kit after I’d had my first period (I’d been breastfeeding) and it said I wasn’t ovulating. I tried at loads of different times during the cycle and it kept saying no, so I assumed my body wasn’t back to normal yet. However when my next period was late it turned out the kit was wrong as I was pregnant! My second son is now 11 months old, so the kits can be wrong! Good luck. X

Thank you so much @hayley_m86 I'd been breastfeeding too for a year completely and then a year of not, It's refreshing to hear that the OPK was not working for someone else. Thank you so much xxx

Hidden Thanks so much for the response. I am so pleased someone else didn't have a good run with OPK. I know I need to be calm, I was just so disheartened when this time around was so different to the usage last time. Thank you so much for the response and so sorry for the heartache you have been through xxx

Hi Eileen91, didnt want to read and run...ive never had a positive on an opk...i gave up using them tbh. If you know your body and have regular cycles then i bet youve predicted ovulation right. Im pregnant with my third-15 wks. My first child (previous partner) it took 9 months to concieve, but with my now husband we concieved last time and this time round within the first month of trying. I was really convinced it wouldnt happen again so quickly this time that i tried to chill and even had bad period type pains and what i now know was a small implantation bleed (never had with previous pregnancies). Stay positive, it is your first month but like you i was so hopeful it would happen quickly again deep down and it did...i did first response day before due on as did not get a full flow bleed as with normal period. Thank you Bumper123 so nice of you to reply and so refreshing to hear. I'm kicking myself for even buying them because they are not cheap and itnwas a total waste of money. I'm two days away from my period so I'm just waiting very impatiently hence why I am up at five am reading posts like this. I just don't know but the only thing I have is aching boobs. At the stage of analysing every little thing but here's hoping my situation works out the same as yours. Thanks so so much for the reply keeps my hopes up for another few days xxx
