Wow they say you will get tired in 1st trimester, they weren't kidding 🤔 Trying so hard not to tell anyone until we get to 12 weeks, im very active normally but the last 2 days have knocked me sideways. I feel like I'm walking through sludge all the time. I'm only 5 weeks 3 days, any tips to boost energy?

I felt crap for 3 weeks and thought it was the work I had taken on that involved a commute then I found I was pregnant. The only advice I can give is take it easy. Do the major things you have to do like work but everything else get your partner, if he's around, to do.

Make up excuses if needed to get out of social engagements so you can sleep, for example it's currently tree pollen hayfever time and some people are suffering so bad they can't go out.

Oh and while they say the tiredness goes away in the 2nd trimester it may take a while.

Btw I had optimal vitamin and iron levels before I was pregnant.

The first trimester can be really hard, I had about a week off work in total and was constantly telling people that I had a virus. Luckily it was winter to nobody really questioned it. I'm not sure there is a cure for the tiredness, your body works so hard during the first trimester to grow the foetus and placenta. It's also the most crucial time for babys development so my advice would be to take it easy, listen to your body and do what ever makes you feel better. It won't last forever.

The first trimester is the hardest! I had acute sickness and nausea the whole way through and as soon as I got to 13 weeks it just stopped. The tiredness does pass , I reduced my working hours because I was SO tired.

Trust me it will pass. The second trimester has given me a new lease of life! Just push through it , it will get better xx

Yep been there ... was worse second time round when I was also looking after a toddler ... I just had naps with my toddler and went to bed at 8pm. It will pass tho and you'll feel much better in second trimester

Hey Helen, I’m feeling the same at 5 weeks, I was literally falling asleep at my desk at work today. I find that a banana in the morning with a glass of milk perks me up and drink lots of water. I bought a 500ml flask & have been draining it 3 times before I finish work. It does help. Try having a little walk in the fresh air, just round the block or something, when you start to feel fatigued. Good luck! Xx
