l need information

I know that this is not the right place but l am only registered there and l hope someone can help me giving information.

I am not British resident but me and my husband live here. We live in Barrow (town and borough in Cumbria)

I don't know which is the word for it but l mean homes for old people (without children or children away and they are alone). I want to visit , help maybe reading a book or help eating or just talking and holding their hand so whatever l can do for these old people. I don't know where to go and ask about it. Is it possible here in England? Can someone give me an information I couldn't find on internet .

I am here away from my family and grand parents and l miss them l think l will find family warm feeling there and also will give them this feeling maybe make them a little happier

The best thing to do is contact these guys ageuk.org.uk they will help you with the local volunteer initiatives available in you’re area and all the ways you can help. You could always contact your local care homes too. I hope you are able to find something! Good luck! X

That is so lovely of You! Sorry to hear you're missing home! I've done a bit of looking for you and found these. The first one is a link visiting elderly in hospital. I work on an elderly ward in a hospital and love talking to them! Some don't have relatives or are scared n having a friendly face puts them at ease.

The second is a charity called Age UK. The link is for going into elderly homes of people that are lonely or talking to them on the phone.
