I was the same throughout my pregnancy, I’m currently 34 weeks and have it on and off. The midwife said there’s some laxatives that can be used in pregnancy, just consult with the pharmacist first. I didn’t like the idea but said I would use them as a last resort if needed.
Anyhow I upped my water intake and drank a pint of prune juice before bed at night, it was disgusting but after 2 days did the trick.
How this helps 😊
Agree with prune juice, I’ve never had it but we use it in work (I work in residential care) and it seems to do the trick.
Laxido also works pretty well and is safe during pregnancy. You’d be able to get this from your chemist.
If you have a small foot stool/rest then take this into the toilet and sit on toilet with your feet up on it, it’s the ideal position to help move your bowels. Xxx
Magnesium supplement (Natures Sunshine) 2 before bed. Prior to this fybogel and flax seeds on cereal.
Fibogel sachets, Safe in pg, worked really well
I was the same through my whole pregnancy.
You can get lactulose from behind the counter at the pharmacy which really helps and is safe in pregnancy. Drink loads of water.
Also things like fybogel just make me worse(!) so I took a soluble fibre supplement and probiotics (Optibac) which worked wonders.
Hope it improves. I know what a nightmare constipation can be.
I didn't want to take any drugs if possible so i bought a squatty potty. My friend said she achieved the sane result with stacked toilet rolls.
I had this too. I had such bad constipation that I would bleed and clog up the toilet. I found drinking orange juice and eating prunes helped. Hopefully your constipation eases.
I used Laxido throughout my pregnancy - a sachet added to a glass of water after your evening meal.
Also, try and fit in some light exercise like walking or swimming - I went for a walk every morning which definitely helped keep things moving.
Dried apricots bit not too many
