I know how you feel I was in hospital due to severe sickness and dehydration with my last pregnancy so I completely know how you are feeling. If you feel like you aren't keeping enough fluids down please seek help from your doctor. It could be dangerous for you and baby to become very dehydrated . I sucked on oranges when I felt really thirsty. You need to try taking very small sips of water or juice frequently. Don't worry too much about eating much right now , staying hydrated is more important, although the feeling of hunger can make you feel more sick. Get as much rest as possible. Week 8/9 is when the sickness will have peaked so you will be feeling worse And I'm glad to tell you the more you near 10-12 weeks most women start to feel better. I have had 6 pregnancies , 5 children and around 12 weeks I have started to feel better. Remember to get help if you feel like you need it. The doctor can give you sickness medication if you aren't keeping fluids down. One i would not recommend you try if you decide you need sickness medication is cyclizine, it may work for some but made me feel awful. I wish you the best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy xx
thank you, hun. you are right. I am a person who is really lazy to reach doctors. when I got very bad cold last week, the doctor told me i have to get better on my own since he could not prescribe any medication, so I ended up suffering for more than a week, well, till now actually i am still blowing my nose. i am relieved to know that what I am experiencing is the worst and that means it will be much better in a few weeks. thank you for the advice. I will talk to my doctor again. the morning sickness isn't that hard for me to handle as you said my husband is forcing me to eat a lot and frequently, which actually help reduce the sickness. it is my first pregnancy, and my husband said it is so hard to be a mom even much before the baby is born. i know but i still want to have more children like you do. good for you and good luck for you too as well.
It's great your husband is really trying to help you with the sickness and understanding. Some men aren't so sympathetic. If you find you can eat that's great , little and often as you said will help. Yes pregnancy is hard but soo worth it. Even after my sickness last time and giving birth unexpectedley within an hour at home, We are wanting baby number 6 soon! And i have had my babies all very very close together. There is nothing more special than being a mother. I'm very excited for you and your husband . Xx
Hi Aalia. I had the exact same thing, water actually made me throw up! It's important you keep hydrated so try drinking squash or juice. I also ate a lot of fruit, couldn't get enough watermelon!
Lucozade sport drinks or any isotonic drinks (not the fizzy ones!) were a godsend for me early on in my pregnancy, stopped me being sent to the hospital for IV drip numerous times because of dehydration. Easier to drink than water and can be frozen for ice cubes/lollies
