Yes I'm also 10 weeks and have had the same thing for about a month now. Really dry mouth when I wake up in the morning. Told my midwife about it and she said it's common so I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep drinking lots :)

Hi, I was the same toward the end of my 1st trimester and the first few weeks of my 2nd. I could drink pints and still feel thirsty. I also mentioned it to my midwife as was concerned about gestational diabetes but she did a urine test (with the dipstick in the same way they would check for UTIs) and it was fine. Again, she said it was very common.

I think for the first 3 months your body is working so hard creating that little person - I read somewhere that your blood volume increases by 1/3 - so it makes sense that your body is craving more fluids to support it. I'm now 22 weeks and have to focus on having a few pints of fluid a day or get headaches, you need much more water than you think (even though you just need to go to the toilet after 5 minutes anyway!) - just keep drinking, it does subside a little and is very normal. X

Thank you, I am trying hard drink lots but I feel like sick :/ still enjoying the journey.

Someone told me you're thirsty because your body is producing more blood and making the placenta. Don't know how true this is. But I had the same thing. Must have been drinking around 6ltrs a day at one point. It's normal, don't worry. Keep doing what your body tells you.

I was like you week 8 - 11. I drank more juice (preferred apple) and hot ribena which didn't make me nauseous like plain water did. I also found filtered or bottled water tasted better than tap water. (I couldn't tell the difference in tap or bottled water before pregnancy)

I also found hot blackcurrant a great thirst quencher and for some reason that didn't make me as sick! X

I sucked sugar free hard boiled sweets, you can get nice herbal ones from health food shop/chemist as well as drinking plenty of fluids obv Xx
