Hi I'm 39+6 with my first few days ago I had a period pain back ache on and off from 6pm throughout the night but woke up and nothing. Now few days on last night from9pm back ache was on and off then was getting period like pain just under my belly and feeling like I had a dodgy belly went toilet toilet. And middle of night had the urge for toilet toilet again and did Pain stopped but back ache continues on nd off I feel it more when I'm still. Can anyone advise me do I need to contact midwife?

No harm in contacting her but they will most probably tell you to monitor things and call back if you’re have regular contractions or your waters break. Good luck!

Thankyou it's quite hard trying to time them as I don't know how do I time my back ache or when I get belly ache or pains down below ?

A contraction will feel like a tightening across your tummy and for some people around the back, it will last around 30 seconds to start and will increase in intensity then tail off. These will become longer, stronger and more frequent as things progress x

I been getting tightenings for few weeks now but none are really painful just about noticeable. So wonder what was the belly ache period pain under the belly about

Give your midwife a call see what she says

When I was in labour I didn't even realise because the contractions were in my back and wasn't to bad to begin with.. 3 hours later I'm 3cm dilated

Have they progressed? I had the whole I think I have dodgy bowels with my second and then pains git worse.... once contractions kick in you can tell as they are painful and build up more and more. In general they want you to call when they're regular every 5 mins u less you live v far away from hospital if so call earlier.

Aw have you tried walking walking just 30mins a day does really help I also brought myself a exercise ball and eating lots of pinepple cut deep into the core is good my midwife told me.try not to worry cos worry could possible delaying things things positive that your bundle of joy will be here soon giving you cuddles :) That's what I hold onto it helps to think and do good

Yeah i do walk every day 20 to 20 minutes still nothing is happening with my baby. Seems like he doesn't wanna come into this world 😆 . Doctor suggest for c section but i denied. I wanna do normal birth and i am gonna wait until my baby is ready to come out hah.

Angel! How are you? You’re at the end now, we’ll done! The head doesn’t always engage until labour sometimes in first time labour so don’t worry about that. You’ll be meeting your baby very soon xx

Hi dear! Yeah i am fine 😊thanks for asking. Well i also think like that but nurse told me that being first time mom head should be engaged by this time else it's risky for myself and baby, so i feel quite tense and worried dear. You know besides walking i do all household chores like cleaning, cooking, washing etc...by myself. I am active throughout the pregnancy still why my baby's head is not engaged? Lol 😴😕😥

in reply toAngel90

Try not to worry I know it’s hard but when I had my first he was born at 42weeks to the day and his head only engaged during the birth. Don’t panic it will happen they will come when they are ready and not a moment before. Good luck
