Will i go into labour soon?

Im due today (21st) and had a sweep yesterday, i was 1 and a 1/2 cm dilated, the cervix was very thin and soft and had moved right down. I had mild cramping afterwards and my discharge had a bit of blood mixed in with it. I thought i had lost my mucus plug last week but wasnt too sure as it was coming out in bits over the course of a few days and didnt have any blood in it or wasnt a brown colour, it just looked like a clear snotty slime; but about an hour ago i had the same thing only this time it was bigger and a bit brown-y coloured. Not having any major pains or cramps but feeling slight twinges every now and then... does it sound like labour is close?

Also can any one suggest good ways to kick start labour? Really hoping to go into labour, have the baby and be home by christmas... thanks in advance!

Definitely sounds like you are good to go! My waters broke early so they gave me 24 hours to try and go into labour or I would be induced. I tried everything! Nothing worked, I just think your body will kick start labour when it wants to (or when induced)b. Things i tried:

Drinking raspberry leaf tea, walking, bath with a couple of clary sage oil drops, walking sideways up stairs, nipple stimulation, (because my waters broke I was told no sex but give it a go!), eating pineapple, bouncing on my birthing ball, relaxing massage, spicy food.

Nothing worked so I was induced in the end but it might for you. Good luck! X

Thank you for the advice, will definitely give these a go, thinking of going for a long walk later and might pick up another pineapple while im out... feel like all I've been doing for the past week or so is bouncing on the ball lol, and drinking the tea. Again thank you, and hope everything went smoothly for you after being induced, heard it can take longer and is more painful so hoping i go naturally🤞 x

I know what you mean about the bouncing! I’m 30 weeks pregnant with my second now and the birthing ball is waiting in the corner of the room. I’m going to have to give in and get bouncing soon! 😂

Got my fingers crossed for you that your labour kicks in! X
