Me and my partner have been trying to conceive since I had my birth control implant out at the end of April, I’ve not had a period since September and so had some blood tests done yesterday and it says the the Gonadotraphin levels are high. Has any one else had this or know what it could mean? All pregnancy tests are negative.

Blood test reaults
Hi, I too came off the implant too to try and conceive! Good luck!! Hormones are very confusing so bear with!!
The hypothalamus in our brain sends out hormones everywhere to direct other glands to produce other hormones. Gonadotrophin is sent from the hypothalamus to the pituitary gland to 'tell it' to produce 2 special hormones. One of these is follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). The role of FSH is to mature an egg for release by travelling down to the ovaries to stimulate the development of a new follicle (egg) each month.
There are so many hormones involved I wouldn't even know where to start explaining them! I've just been doing a course at work going through all this which has turned out very useful timing!
I'm sure it just means that it is been produced at the moment to go mature an egg possibly? Hope this is the answer you were looking for?
