13 weeks pregnant and broken heart

I don't know what to do... I had first scan on Wednesday, our baby is ok, we were so happy and next day we had to face with big tragedy. Our cat was hit by a car or someone hurt him and left. He was in big pain but he came to us and we tried to help him but he died. I can't stop crying. You can tell it was only a cat but he was part of our family, our big friend. My hart is broken but baby is the most important at the moment. What can I do?

I’m so sorry to hear about your cat. I have two rabbits and they are my babies, I would move mountains for them.

I totally understand how you feel!

Try to think about the joy he brought you and how sad he would feel if he saw you like this. I know it’s easy to say but right now you have a baby to care for.

When I found out I was pregnant I was so worried about tellimg my rabbits 😊, it sounds silly but that’s how much we love them.

What is it you need to know? Grief doesn't harm the baby, and it's ok to feel devastated at the loss of a much loved pet, they definitely are part of the family! If you have a garden, make a little memorial area where you can go when things get tough. Talk to him/her, about how the baby is developing and how you are feeling etc. Animals have souls too.

Sorry about your loss. I have a cat too so understand how much they become a part of the family. They are our fur babies. I don’t have any advice as I have not been in this situation myself but as another lady suggested, having a memorial area in your garden seems like a really nice idea.
