4 months after delivery painful sexual intercourse.

Hello!Its nearly been 4 months since i gave birth and had 3 sexual intercourses only after 3 months.It is painful and can not enjoy it.It is normal ?is taking so long to recover? Want to go to GP but i am embarassed to ask what to do as i can not relax and is difficult for my husband.

Comfortable again. Make sure you tell your husband what goes and what doesn't and also I'd make sure you use plenty of lubricant to help things along!

Recovery can take a while if you tore alot or needed stitches. I read that most women can comfortably have sex after around 12 weeks.

I am almost 3 months PP and me and my partner tried it for the first time when i was 8 weeks PP i can honestly say it was super uncomfortable still (and i had an emergency C-Section in the end, those pessaries to induce labour make things so sore for a long time)! But everyone is different i had a friend who had sex again after 5 weeks and had no problems or pain, everyone heals different and had different labours. I feel a lot of my pain is psychological as i had a very traumatic and long labour and i am just genuinly terrified of getting caught and going through it all again! I would say just sit down and talk to your husband about how you are feeling and take it step by step. Myself and my partner have gone back to basics so to speak and found other ways to be intimate other than penetrative sex every time, get familiar with eachother again, take things slow, relax and use a lot of lubricant, we have found the more relaxed i am the easier it is as at first my partner said i was making it more difficult and tensing which only made it harder for us both!
