Hi all. I'm 7 weeks pregnant with baby no.3 but my first was stillborn at 32weeks which has made me a little paranoid to say the least. Anyway, with this pregnancy I've been experiencing twinge pains on my right side in my lower abdomen and worried something could be wrong as I didn't experience this in my previous pregnancies. Does anyone have any advice on what it could be or what I should do? I feel if I contact my midwife they won't actually do anything until I have my booking in appointment in a few weeks time.

The midwives don't normally see you directly till you are 16 weeks. Twinges are actually very normal at this stage. However If you are concerned its best to speak to your gp or A&e, unless you can book directly with the early pregnancy unit in your area.

Hi,

It's normal in early pregnancy. I also used to have period like cramps sometimes.

Wish you a healthy and happy pregnancy ...

My heart is with you hun, my little girl was born asleep at 39 weeks. The pains are usually just your uterus stretching. If you are worried though hun just contact the midwife. I was on pins all the way through with my little man, but you can get happiness after total sadness. I am here if you need to talk x

Hi there. I am so sorry you lost a baby, it's heartbreaking. My sister had a little girl who was still born and she went on to have a little boy - because of this with her next pregnancy she had lots of extra appointments and extra scans. You must contact your midwife or doctor with any concerns - don't worry about whether you're being a pain. You need reassurance and peace of mind, and they will understand this. Even though it is probably noting to worry about, don't wait until your booking appointment. I am about 6 weeks and having light cramps, but remember having these with my first baby. Take care x

Thank you. I think I just needed some reassurance it was normal. It's hard to get excited about a baby until they're actually here now and I just look out for any possible thing. X

Hi Hun,

Just wanted to chip in, cramps are very normal in early pregnancy and to me a good sign. I have a son then lost two and currently pregnant again. With the miscarriages I don't recall having any cramping. With my son I had awful cramps that would awake me at night. Went to gp and was sent for an early sign - turns out it was constipation! So that might be something to think about.

Wishing you all the very best, and please never feel that your being a pain. Drs and midwives will want to reassure you and give you peace of mind, all you need to do is ask xx
