I'm 32+3 weeks and last night I had a little bit of left sided abdo pain - I just assumed was more stretching. I couldn't lie on my left side and was just uncomfortable. This morning it still feels uncomfortable with the pain still through the left side including my hip. I'm also having period like cramps and not too sure what it could be. Any ideas would be appreciated! I am going to call the midwife at some point but have a ridiculously busy day at work and a 3 hour meeting that I cant get out of Thanks x

Pain & cramps - What could it be?
I'd always get any pain checked out especially as it's now turned into period pains. ... I had contractions at 32 weeks and they managed to stop them I went straight in and they only felt like braxton hicks but the important thing is if it is the starting of contractions then they can give u steriods to mature the babies lungs and they need to give u2 doses 12 hours apart if I remember correctly so Pls don't leave it x
Hi, I am also 32+3 - we must be due on the same day! I have just seen the midwife this morning (standard checkup) - I have been feeling uncomfortable lately, pain in ribs, backache and period pains, not to mention constant need to wee. Mentioned all to midwife and she did full check. Everything is healthy with me an the baby - she reassured me when you get to this stage you just start to feel more niggles, nothing to worry about. So am sure all will be well with you too, but maybe visit the midwife when you are able to as it feels nice to have some reassurance x

The pains on your left hand side might be due to how the baby sits and him/her kicking. The period pains could be Braxton Hicks. Do you feel your tummy distended? Kind of rock hard? But to be on the safe side you should get checked out.
I'm due 20th sept I've called the midwife - she's on holiday so called the hospital who abruptly advised paracetamol and call them back if its still painful. My tummy doesn't feel hard at all, but getting more pressure centrally and lower down. Still with occasional pain. I think its probably a combo of movement braxton hicks. I've not had any so far, and wasn't really sure what they are supposed to feel like!! I think I'll keep and eye and call back if it continues. We've had a eventful pregnancy so far, so i tend to worry quite a bit! Thanks for the replies x
Pains in your sides especially when your lying down are, like you say maybe to do with the weight of your baby stretching the ligaments there - all your ligaments have a lot more give in pregnancy to give the baby room but sometimes they get a bit too much stretching at once and start to hurt. As people have said period type pains could be the way you experience Braxton Hicks and if you stop feeling them after some paracetamol that is probably a good indication that you are not starting labour but if you are unsure or worried for any reason trust your instinct and call them back.
