Cramps
Hi there kdg123. Firstly congratulations!! I'm just starting my second pregnancy but also remember being in your situation with my first. It is not unusual to suffer cramps during early pregnancy so try not to worry too much. As long as it's not severe pain and or accompanied by bleeding. I'd recommend comfy clothes and indulge in some TLC whilst enjoying your news xx
Thanks, last time i went to the emergency room they said they couldn't find the baby...this was day before christmas eve so i just figuref i was way to early...do you think i should go back to the emergency room? My doctors appt isnt until the 6th
I wouldn't have thought that was necessary unless you're in severe pain? As far as I'm aware it's not possible to see a full foetus with s heart beat until you're around 6 to 7 weeks and that's assuming your dates are correct. Even in the situation of miscarriages there is very little/nothing that can be done other than making you comfortable. I didn't read anything in your post suggesting you may be experiencing a miscarriage xx
Ok thanks... Im just a little worried but im praying every second about it lol..this is my first so its nervewrecking but ill be ok ..thanks a million
If the pain eases when you rest/take pain killers don't panic. I used to get period pain cramps all the time through my first trimester. If there is bleeding contact the emergency gynaecology department. They can do internal scans when you are early on. I had this when I had some bleeding, however I was 8 weeks. Good luck in your pregnancy.
Light cramps are okay. From what I've learned from the doctors, you shouldn't be too concerned unless the cramps are severe and associated with blood. I've been in your position and I know it's driving you crazy, but please stay hopeful and stress free. God bless <3
Your first scan may have been too early - you wouldn't see anything on a scan until 6 weeks and probably no heartbeat until later than this, All they can do at this stage is check your hCG levels but it would mean testing twice as they need to see the levels double after 48 hours so you would need to return for a second test after 2 days. As others have said, it's normal to have cramping in early pregnancy, I had this and have also read it in a pregnancy book. It could just be constipation, to be honest! Or progesterone levels. Unless you are passing red blood or clots, you should just wait until your scan date as it's only a few days away. If you're really really concerned, you could call the emergency room at the maternity hospital and speak to a midwife but I think they will advise the same as what the other ladies on here have said. If it would give you peace of mind, then maybe ask for the hCG test.
Hello
I agree with the others as I had cramps during my first trimester (inc sharp pains) and everything was fine. I had a scan when I was 8 weeks but understand until you are 7 weeks the baby is just too small to be seen, so again I don't think it should read much into this.
If you have bleeding then you should definitely contact A&E or the Early Pregnancy Unit at your hospital but otherwise try to relax and enjoy the news!

Hope everything is going well.
