I had a faint positive pregnancy test about a week ago and I've had the all the pregnancy symptoms and I've been bleeding for 3 days now - is it normal or my period? It isn't heavy like my normal period

Hi, I wouldn't be too worried unless you are having cramping or really bad stomach pains, I had what i thought was a period in January and then in February i found out i was 10 weeks Pregnant so it wasn't a period that i had in January! My midwife said that light bleeding and spotting is pretty common in the first couple of months f pregnancy and only told me i needed to worry it was accompanied by cramping. If you are worried i would just recommend going and getting checked over as it will just put your mind at ease or even just going and doing a pregnancy test again as it would should up clearer this time.

Hope everything goes okay for you xx

Thank you so much!! At least it's normal! And yeah I'm going to take another test Monday when the bleeding has hopefully stopped! I have my first midwife appointment on the 5th! And everything is fine now, my mind is at ease haha Xx

I had what i thought was a proper period, i'm glad i didn't know i was pregnant or i would have been worried and a mess, my midwife said in the first 12 weeks it is normal to bleed due to so many changes happening, as long as their isn't cramping or anything i wouldn't worry, It is a lot easier said than done i find myself worrying about everythinggg and just have to remind myself its the worry thats not doing the baby any good aha!

But good luck with everything and if you need a chat or have any concerns feel free to message me? xxx

I had cramping for a few hours but after then the cramping never came back up and I went through like 1-2 pads a day so it wasn't majorly heavy bleeding - everything is okay now, still early days though - my first scan is May 5th :) xxxx

Did you actually miss your period, was it late? At what point did you get a positive test?

No my period wasn't late and I took the test 4 days before my period

If it was so early on and the rest was faintly positive I'd recheck the test. Use first morning wee. Doesn't have to be after the bleeding stops. If you are pregnant you should get a strong result by now.
