Hi I'm 39 weeks pregnant and the past two days I have been getting achy pains in my vagina and tightening across my stomach. I have not lost my plug or anything else yet. The pains stopped when I got into a warm bath but carried on afterwards.
What do you think

Hi, definately sounds like its starting! This can be a nervous but exciting time cant it. Wishing you an easy labour and birth, good luck and hopefully you will be holding your little bundle of joy soon x
Hi! Just rest as much as you can. Warm bath will help with the pain. I lost my plug whilst having one. You are nearly there. If the pain is bearable, just rest, if you can't cope with it, then go straight away to the hospital. Good luck! Soon you will have a precious baby in your arms 😊
The tightening, if not very painful, might be Braxton Hicks. Along with the weight that is on your pelvic floor, pelvic girdle, and your softening cervix, it might explain the achey pains. It could be that baby is not far off arriving but try not to get too excited as it could be ages away. Every body is different after all. It would be worth discussing this with your midwife and they may offer an internal check to see what your cervix is doing. The bath is obviously soothing for you but it may be worth sitting on a warm hot water bottle (like half hot and half cold water) as my birthing midwife gave me this advice for healing after the birth (instead of the banded about cold compresses) and it was way more comforting and soothed pain a lot quicker and lasted a lot longer.
The only way I can describe labour is it felt like a water infection and I couldn't get off the loo, might be the tightening you describe. But mine was all in my back and then the contractions started which went to 3 mins apart. Then they weirdly stopped for a week until my waters broke. Then the real fun began. Good luck hope it goes well x
