Fetal hiccups

I'm 35+4 and have started noticing what I presume are hiccups, nearly everyday and sometimes twice in the day. They never last long 2-5 minutes at the most. Is this normal, healthy or a cause for concern?

Hi, I have 3 kids and due my 4th in April. Don't worry it's totally normal and apparently doesn't bother them one bit. It's when they start hiccuping out of the womb it does! Lol

Hi,

Hiccups are common in pregnancy and nothing to worry about. They are easily identified by the rhythmic pattern they have and should be short lasting as yours are. They are in fact a positive sign that your baby is developing well as they are caused by the movement of the diaphragm when your baby suckles or does 'practice breathing'. Enjoy them, it's an odd sensation that only a pregnant woman can experience!

Hi

My son had them daily during pregnancy. He would wake me up at night with them as well. My whole belly would shake! Apparently I had them when my mum was pregnant too and here I am. My son is 18 months now!

Hope that helps!

Normal. Even once born my daughter had daily hiccups too, which is normal and settled as she grew

This is totally normal hun. When they are taking the amniotic fluid it sometimes has bubbles in it which cause the hiccups. It used to make me smile when I felt my little one hiccup because it feels even more like a little person x
