Hi everyone, I recently found out that i am pregnant. I contacted my GP surgery and they have booked me in for an appointment with midwife for 1st of December. By that time I will be almost 8 weeks pregnant (according to my period date). I was just wondering if I should wait till my apppointment or start taking supplements as I know folic acid is very important in preventing neural tube defects in a baby. Any help/suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Many thanks.xx

Yes start taking them now... the NHS do healthy start vitamins, they are sold at Childrens Centres, have the essential vitamins for pregnancy and are significantly cheeper than the ones you can buy from the pharmacy.
I'm 8 weeks and have been taking pregnacare since the positive test. I got all my notes on Monday from my midwife and it actually came with 1 weeks sample of pregnacare so I think it's a good vitamin to be on.
