I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and having all kinds of issues.

Unsure if got Thrush on top as also have threadworms thanks to contact with alot of pre-schoolers and causing me to be so uncomfortable at night. Have had telephone consultation with GP.

Anyone got any tips as been told can't take medication for the threadworms and already shower/wash every morning and am a clean person, short nails etc..... Everything feels so swollen and feel so fed up....

:-(

You can try to get rid of them the natural way. Eat raw shredded carrots about 3 times a day for a good 4 weeks. Look on google also as there are a few other natural ways too. Put in natural ways to get rid of pin worm and see what comes up. Hope you get it sorted.

If you do have thrush as well might. be worth getting treatment for that. Which you can have during pregnancy. With thrush you normally get a whitish discharge which is not what you get with thread worms.

I suffered with this in pregnancy a lot despite having good personal hygiene, the joys of having two older boys that no matter how much I nag them do their best to avoid all things soap related :/

Thread worms have a two - three week life cycle from hatching so perseverance (and of course good hygiene) is really all you can do. A salt in the evening can help as it can kill the ones which make there way to the surface. As long as good hygiene is maintained you should avoid the dreaded reinfestation at the 4 week Mark. Wish I could offer more help

Thankyou for your reply, nice to know I'm not alone in this. Makes me feel so dirty, have always kept on top of personal hygiene so find it hard to be any cleaner. have cut all my fingernails really short as this was the only thing I could change, hoping they go soon as am SO tired. x

Sorry, that was supposed to read a salt bath in the evening, although be cautious as it could disrupt vaginal bacteria.

I remember the discomfort all too well, I hope they clear up soon xxx

I'm not sure, best to check with your midwife and maybe pop into a chemist and speak to a pharmacist. They're very helpful Xx

I had worms not long after I gave birth to my second. We all ended up with them. We did have the medicine but I remember having to get up every morning make sure everyone in the household has a shower or bath and scrubs their bums. Put all towels and cloths used in washing machine on high wash. Bleach bath. Wash hands. It's all the obvious stuff I washed everyone's bedding every other day and hoovered twice a day (beds once a day). Keep all clean clothes away from the beds as don't want transference of eggs. I Bleach toilet morning and night. Even with the medicine it took a while to get clear of them and as exhausting as it was we were clear of worms in around 6weeks. You probably already know all this though.. hope this helps and the worms piss off soon!!! As for the thrush I used the feminine was which I know a lot of people finds give them thrush but the decent one in pink bottle think it's called femcare helped to keep the thrush away once used canes ten. Also I've used the gels after using canes ten and thrush has gone you can use them pregnant it's once a month and you stick it up and squeeze the gel out. Bioactive or something. They both work to keep thrush away for me.

Sorry you're having such a hard time of it with all these issues plus being pregnant!!

Thankyou for taking the time to reply. I've got the femfresh wash which I use religiously every morning, even more so now. Hoping everything goes away soon as beginning to make me feel really down. spoke with midwife who confirmed that won't be of any harm to baby at all so this is the only comfort I get out of all of it. x

I know how down I felt with a toddler and a newborn with worms as well as me. So I really do feel for you!! It'll get better! Everything is so much harder when pregnant just make sure you're getting plenty rest still which is obviously hard when you have clean so much with worms. It's like an endless cycle of cleaning and washing.. I had moments where I broke down and cried cos it's so exhausting keeping everything so clean and with a baby too was a nightmare. Plus my cat had brought super fleas into the house we had get a professional to spray it so moved out for two weeks inyo my mums with two kids went back and unpacked then realised the treatment didn't work hence the super flea haha had be retreated and didn't get to go home for another 2 weeks!

At least you know baby is OK! Hope it all works out for you! Chin up :)
